Worldwide Device Shipments to Decline 4% in 2023
The depressed economic market will continue to dampen demand for devices throughout 2023. In fact, end-user spending on devices is projected to decline 5.1% in 2023. Experts say, iust as business confidence was beginning to recover after the worst of the pandemic, it has now fallen significantly in most regions. We do not expect relief from inflation and the bottom of the recession to occur until the fourth quarter of 2023.
The downward trend affecting the devices market will lessen in 2023 on the expectation of a less pessimistic economic outlook through 2023, eventually increasing consumer and business spending.
Secondly, PC shipments will continue to record the worst decline of all device segments in 2023. PC shipments are estimated to decline 6.8% in 2023, after a 16% decline in 2022.
Through 2023, PC vendors will reduce inventory levels and Gartner analysts expect PC inventory levels will return to normal by the second half of 2023 after significantly increasing in 2022. “Inventory levels increased due to vendors overestimating market demand and because of the collapse in consumer confidence and dramatic fall in demand,” say experts.
In 2022, while many business PCs could upgrade to the Windows 10 operating system), many did not. By the end of 2023, Gartner expects more than 25% of business PCs will upgrade to Windows 11. However, Windows 11 will not drive enough sales to reach the same volumes seen between 2020 and 2022. It offers a fully digital banking solution at a discounted cost due to the considerable savings in operating costs. This is attributed to zero physical branches & no spending on the workforce to man those branches. Some of the services include international payments, money transfers, or lending credit. Some new banks also partner with neobank to offer the services that help them provide both online & offline banking services. Fintechs have played a significant role in fulfilling this vision. We have witnessed, contactless banking was felt by the people more than ever before. People moved away from traditional banking & physical cash with more & more interest in online banking & wallets. It is estimated that the South Asian nation has 6,386 fintech firms. In total, 28% of them are in investment tech, while 27 percent belong to payments, 16% of them are involved in lending, according to the report. The three segments comprise nearly 70 percent of the fintech industry in India.
Although 9% of fintech companies offer banking infrastructure, the remaining are distributed across different areas such as insurance and Neobanks. India is the fastest-growing digital payments market and firmly on course to emerge as a major less-cash economy. GST collection declines 28% MoM in May 2021, still holds Rs 1 lakh cr-mark for 8th month in a row
The gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue collected in May was at Rs 102,709 crore, the government said on Saturday. Of this, central GST was Rs 17,592 crore, state GST Rs 22,653 crore, integrated GST Rs 53,199 crore crore (including Rs 26,002 crore collected on import of goods) and cess Rs 9,265 crore (including Rs 868 crore collected on import of goods). This is the eighth month in a row that GST revenues have crossed Rs 1 lakh crore mark despite most states been under strict lockdown due to the pandemic.

GST collections set new record, hit an all-time high of Rs 1.24 lakh crore in March
The gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue collected in March was at a record of Rs 1.24 lakh crore, touching the highest level since its introduction, the government said on Thursday. Of this, Central GST was Rs 22,973 crore, State GST Rs 29,329 crore, Integrated GST Rs 62,842 crore (including Rs 31,097 crore collected on import of goods) and cess Rs 8,757 crore (including Rs 935 crore collected on import of goods).

Buzz of increasing GST rates everywhere except my office: FM Nirmala Sitharaman
Ahead of the crucial meeting of the GST Council, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday said the buzz of an increase in GST rates is everywhere other than her office. She was responding to a question on talk of current Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates of 5, 12, 18 and 28 per cent being raised to make up for the fall in revenues that has even hampered giving compensation to states for loss of revenue from implementation of the indirect tax regime.

GST collection crosses Rs 1 lakh crore mark in November
Helped by government stimulus measures, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection in November crossed Rs 1 lakh crore, after dropping below the Rs 1 lakh crore level for three consecutive months amid a deceleration of economic growth. November's GST collection stood at Rs 1,03,492 crore, of which CGST was Rs 19,592 crore, SGST Rs 27,144 crore, IGST collections stood at Rs 49,028 crore (including Rs 20,948 crore collected on imports) and Cess was recorded at Rs 7,727 crore (including Rs 869 crore collected on imports).
