APIs becoming fast-growing threat vectors
As the post-pandemic world leans heavily on digital interaction to maintain user connections, the volume of API traffic has grown rapidly. However, this growth has also brought on emerging security challenges. Organizations must regularly test Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to identify vulnerabilities, and address these vulnerabilities using security best practices. APIs may have vulnerabilities like broken authentication and authorization, lack of rate limiting, and code injection. With organizations often having hundreds or even thousands of APIs in use, the task of securing them all is highly complex. The challenge requires a strategic approach for security assessment that can be applied universally and efficiently across a diverse set of APIs. An API attack is abusive or manipulative usage or attempted usage of an API, commonly used to breach data or manipulate a commerce solution. The growth of APIs (application programming interfaces) is more important than ever. It can lead to malicious traffic growth, consequently. APIs today prove their value by driving new digital business revenue growth and transforming decades-old business models. Such APIs have also become a fast-growing threat vector and a nexus of what research group Forrester calls “API insecurity.” What the enterprise needs is to approach APIs from a zero-trust security paradigm.
API breaches, including those at Capital One, JustDial, T-Mobile, and elsewhere, continue to underscore how perimeter-based approaches to securing web applications aren’t scaling well for today’s APIs.
APIs start with zero-trust security
Given how pervasive APIs are today, organizations need an overarching API security strategy that scales to address compliance and security challenges while keeping business outcomes in balance. Zero-trust security can address those challenges and is needed to secure APIs throughout the software development lifecycle and into production.

GoAir suspends certain flights on delay in aircraft, engine deliveries
In mounting woes, GoAir on Thursday announced temporary suspension of "certain flights" as there will be delay in delivery of aircraft by Airbus and engines by Pratt & Whitney. Some scheduled flights as well as those for which ticket sales are open would be affected, the carrier said. Details about the number of flights that would be impacted were not disclosed.

13 employees of airlines, airports across country failed breath analyzer test: DGCA official
Thirteen employees of airlines and airports have failed breath analyser tests since September 16 and they have been suspended for three months, a DGCA official said on Monday.Seven employees of IndiGo, and one airside worker each of GoAir and SpiceJet have failed the alcohol tests since the rules were issued, the official said."13 employees of various types have been found positive during the breath analyser tests in the voluntary phase... The mandatory phase begins in November and shall entail our 'surveillance and watch' on a regular basis," the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) official said.

Boeing 737 Max grounded- Cause and impact on Indian airline sector
DGCA has grounded all Boeing 737 MAX being operated in India. Moreover, the Aviation regulator has also barred any Boeing 737 MAX from entering Indian Airspace. The ban would impact SpiceJet the most. SpiceJet and troubled Jet Airways are the only two airlines operating the Boeing 737 MAX in the country. India closes airspace for Boeing 737 Max 8 jets, DGCA to monitor flight fares
A day after the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) banned Boeing 737 Max 8 from the Indian airspace, the civil aviation secretary today, said that DGCA has been monitoring the B737 MAX matter very closely. As an additional measure, inputs were sought from Boeing & Global aviation regulators. The aviation watchdog will form special cell to monitor passengers' complaint. DGCA also said that no compensation will be provided to the airlines. They are also likely to review fare over the next two days in light of the suspension of Being 737 MAX flights.

IndiGo, GoAir cancel 48 flights for today after DGCA grounds A320neo planes. This includes flights to Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Jaipur, Srinagar, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Dehradun, Amritsar, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, among others, the airline announced on its website.

India grounds Pratt-powered A320neos- Here's all you need to know | Economic Times
India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has grounded 11 A320neo aircrafts powered by a certain series of Pratt & Whitney engines following instances of engine failures during flights. Of these, 8 are operated by IndiGo and 3 by GoAir. The decision comes hours after an A320 neo aircraft of IndiGo suffered engine failure mid-air and made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad airport.
