कोरोना काल में हजारों लावारिस शवों का कराया था अंतिम संस्कार
पद्म श्री पुरस्कार से सम्मानित कोरोना वारियर रहे जितेंद्र सिंह शंटी देर रात खुर्जा के जंक्शन रोड स्थित पंचवटी कम्युनिटी भवन में शिरकत करने पहुंचे। यहां उनका सम्मान समारोह आयोजित किया गया। गौरतलब है कि जितेंद्र सिंह शंटी ने कोविड महामारी के दौरान 49000 से ऊपर शवों का अंतिम संस्कार किया था। उन्हें पद्मश्री से भी सम्मानित किया गया है।
वह गैर सरकारी भगत सिंह सेवा संस्थान के संस्थापक भी रहे। भारतीय जनता पार्टी के विधान सभा सदस्य भी रह चुके हैं। इस दौरान नगर के काफी सम्मानित लोग भी मौजूद रहे। नगर के जंक्शन रोड स्थित पंचवटी कम्युनिटी हॉल में देर रात पद्म श्री पुरस्कार से सम्मानित सरदार जितेंद्र सिंह शंटी कोरोना वॉरियर का भव्य स्वागत किया गया।
इस दौरान नगर के पूर्व पालिका चेयरमैन रहे हरजीत सिंह टीटू समेत सिख समाज के अनेक लोगों ने जितेंद्र सिंह शंटी का भव्य स्वागत किया। अर्जित सिंह टीटू ने बताया कि कोरोना काल के दौरान पद्म श्री से सम्मानित किया गया था।
इस दौरान नगर के पूर्व पालिका चेयरमैन रहे हरजीत सिंह टीटू समेत सिख समाज के अनेक लोगों ने जितेंद्र सिंह शंटी का भव्य स्वागत किया। अर्जित सिंह टीटू ने बताया कि कोरोना काल के दौरान पद्म श्री से सम्मानित जितेंद्र सिंह शंटी ने 49000 से ऊपर लावारिस शवों का अंतिम संस्कार किया था। जिस समय लावारिस शवों को छोड़कर लोग भाग रहे थे। वही 100 से ज्यादा बार ब्लैड डोनेशन किया ।
उस समय जितेंद्र सिंह शंटी ने अपनी टीम के साथ शवों का ससम्मान तरीके से अंतिम संस्कार किया था। जिसके कारण उनको पद्म श्री पुरस्कार से भी सम्मानित किया गया था। इसके अलावा व गैर सरकारी संगठन भगत सिंह सेवा संस्थान के संस्थापक भी मौजूद रहे।
इस दौरान पालिकाध्यक्ष जी रहे। वही पंजाबी समाज के लोग भी शामिल रहे।

कोरोना काल में जहां लोग एक-दूसरे के पास बैठने से भी हिचक रहे थे, ऐसे में कुछ समाजसेवियों ने अपनी जान जोखिम में डालकर सेवा की। ऐसे ही एक समाजसेवी एवं विश्व हिन्दू परिषद (विहिप) के कार्यकर्ता चिरन्जीव मल्होत्रा हैं जिन्होंने कोरोना संकट के समय लावारिश शवों का अंतिम संंस्कार कर मानवता की मिसाल पेश की थी और अब अपने खर्चे पर अस्थियों का विसर्जन करवा रहे हैं। कोरोना संकट के समय कोरोना मृतकों का जो परिवार अंतिम संस्कार करने से कतरा रहे हैं, या फिर ऐसी समस्या आ जाती थी कि लोग चाहकर भी अंतिम संस्कार नहीं कर पा रहे थे, उन शवों को अंतिम स्थल तक पहुंचाने का जिम्मा भी चिरन्जीव मल्होत्रा ने उठाया था।
