यूपी के कौशांबी ज़िले में भी रहस्यमयी बुख़ार ने दस्तक दे दी हैं। जिसके बाद जिला प्रशासन में हड़कम्प मचा हुआ हैं। मंझनपुर के भटवरिया गाँव के लगभग 50 बच्चे बीमार हैं। गाँव के चारो तरफ़ गंदगी का अंबार लगा हुआ हैं। प्राथमिक स्कूल के चारो तरफ जलजमाव और गंदगी फैली हुई हैं। बुख़ार की सूचना पर डॉक्टरों की एक टीम गाँव तो पहुची, लेकिन खानापूर्ति कर वापस चली गयी। मंझनपुर तहसील के भटवरिया गाँव मे 4 से 10 साल के बच्चे रहस्यमयी बुखार से पीड़ित हैं। ज़्यादतर बीमार बच्चे प्राइमरी स्कूल के बताये जा रहे हैं। मीडिया की टीम जब प्राइमरी स्कूल पहुची तो गेट पर ही कीचड़ दिखा। उसमे मच्छर के लार्वा तैर रहे थे। परिसर के अंदर भी जलजमाव और गंदगी दिखी। उत्तर प्रदेश में बुख़ार के बढ़ते प्रकोप को देखते हुए प्रदेश सरकार ने साफ़-सफाई के लिये सख़्त हिदायत दे रखी हैं, इसके बावजूद स्कूल परिसर एंव चारो तरफ़ जलजमाव और गंदगी फ़ैली हुई हैं। रहस्मयी बुख़ार को सीएमओ कमल चन्द्र राय ने वायरल फ़ीवर बताया हैं, लेकिन सिर्फ़ 4 से 10 साल के बच्चो में ही बीमारी फैलने से लोगो मे दहशत हैं। राहत की बात है कि गाँव पहुची डॉक्टर की टीम ने कुछ बच्चों की डेंगू, मलेरिया और कोरोना की एंटीजन जांच की, जिसमे बच्चे निगेटिव निकले। इनकी जांच लैब भी भेजी जा रही हैं। लैब से रिपोर्ट आने के बाद ही किस कारण से बच्चे बीमार हुए है पता चल पाएगा। सभी बच्चों का इलाज घर पर ही हो रहा हैं। टीम ने स्कूल परिसर में दवा का छिड़काव किया, तथा क़रीब 16 बच्चो को दवा वितरित कर निकल गयी।

सिद्धार्थनगर जिले में बने nh-28 निर्माण कंपनी की बड़ी लापरवाही सामने आई है। nh 28 के बगल से बनाए गए नाले का टेल एक स्कूल के परिसर में खोल दिया गया है। विद्यालय में गंदा पानी इकट्ठा होने से लोगों को खासी दिक्कतों का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। इस मामले में जिलाधिकारी ने जल्द से जल्द इस समस्या के निस्तारण की बात कही है।
सिद्धार्थ नगर जिले से गुजरकर भारत नेपाल के सीमा ककरहवा तक जाने वाली nh28 का निर्माण करीब 1 वर्ष पहले ही पूरा हो चुका है। nh 28 की विभागीय लापरवाही का दंश झेल रहा यह जय किसान इंटर कॉलेज है । यह विद्यालय मुख्यालय से 2 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर इसी nh28 पर स्थित है। nh28 के पूर्ण होने के बाद बगल से बनाए गए नाले में वहां की आबादी का पूरा पानी बहता है। nh28 के निर्माण कंपनी और इससे जुड़े अधिकारियों ने नाले के टेल की उचित व्यवस्था नहीं की और नाले का टेल इस विद्यालय के मेन गेट पर लाकर छोड़ दिया। निर्माण कंपनी की इस बड़ी लापरवाही से नाले का पूरा पानी गंदा पानी विद्यालय के परिसर में भर रहा है। विद्यालय परिसर में गंदे पानी से इतनी बदबू फैली है कि वहां पर रुकना मुहाल है और अब स्कूल खुलने के बाद छात्र-छात्राओं को भी दिक्कत हो रही है। स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल का कहना है कि उन्होंने निर्माण के वक्त एनएच के अधिकारियों से ऐसा न करने का अनुरोध किया था और इसे बंद करने का आश्वासन भी निर्माण कंपनी द्वारा दिया गया था लेकिन यह नाला बंद नहीं किया गया। उन्होंने बताया कि इस समस्या से स्थानीय सांसद और जिलाधिकारी भी अवगत हैं लेकिन स्कूल की इस समस्या का अभी तक कोई उपाय नहीं किया गया ।
