आजमगढ़ जनपद आजमगढ में शुक्रवार को दशहरा के अवसर पर विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में रावण दहन हुआ। नवरात्र भर रामलीला का आयोजन किया जाता है। विजयदशमी के पर्व पर शाम को परम्परागत रूप से राम रावण का युद्ध होता है और फिर रावण के पुतले का दहन होता है। आज़मगढ़ शहर के पुरानी पुरानी कोतवाली समेत अन्य क्षेत्र में रावण दहन का आयोजन किये जाते हैं जो की काफ़ी मशहूर है। इस आयोजन में काफी लोग इकट्ठा होते है। असत्य पर सत्य की जीत का प्रतीक दशहरा पर्व ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में धूमधाम के साथ मनाया गया। बैंडबाजों व सुंदर झांकियों के बीच विजयादशमी का जुलूस निकाल कर रावण के पुतले का दहन किया गया। विभिन्न स्थानों पर दशहरा मेला आयोजित हुआ। मां के दर्शन के लिए दोपहर होने के साथ हर कदम निकल पड़े थे पंडालों की ओर। मां दुर्गा का दर्शन राम-रावण युद्ध के बाद रावण के पुतले का दहन आकर्षण का केंद्र रहा। मेले के मद्देनजर जगह जगह, तरह तरह की दुकानें सजीं रहीं। बच्चों ने मिट्टी के खिलौने मिठाई गुब्बारा धनुष बाण आदि की जमकर खरीददारी की। मेले के दौरान बाजारों में चहल-पहल रही। इस दौरान गुड़ की जलेबी जो कि यहां का विशेष पकवान है उसको खासा पसंद किया जाता है।

देश और दुनियां के साथ दमोह में भी शहादत का पर्व बड़ी शिद्दत से मनाया गया । मोहर्रम की दसवीं तारीख को शहर के सभी ताजिये व अखाड़े अपने मक्कनो से उठाकर नगर भर्मण पर निकले और जगह जगह अखाड़ों के प्रदर्शन हुए । मोहर्रम के जुलूस की खास बात ये रही कि जुलूस में इस बार देश विज्ञानिकों के सम्मान में झाँकिया शामिल हुई आइये देखते है आखिर क्या है ।
शहादत का पर्व यूँ तो सारे देश मे मनाया गया लेकिन दमोह के मोहर्रम का जुलूस सभी के आकर्षण का केंद्र रहा दरअसल मोहर्रम के जुलूस की खासियत ये रही कि ताजियों के साथ अखाड़े में हमारे देश के के अमर शहीदों को और देश के होनहार वैज्ञानिकों को समर्पित कुछ झाँसीय तैयार की गई जिसमें इंडियन आर्मी और मिसाइल शामिल की गई जो लोगों के आकर्षण का केंद्र बनी रही ।अखाड़ों में जहाँ मुस्लिम युवा अपने खेल के बेहतरीन कलाबाजियां दिख रहे थे तो वही देश की मिसाइल और लड़ाकू टैंक जो दुश्मन के छक्के छुड़ादे जैसी झाकियां सभी को आकर्षित कर रही थी । इन नौजवानों बताया कि हमारे देश की रक्षा करने वाले शहीद सैनिकों को और जो इसरो ने जो विक्रम चन्द्रयान 2 को चाँद पर भेज था ऐसे विज्ञानिकों के सम्मान में ये झांकियां जुलूस में शामिल की गई है ।
