खंडवा -ऐसे ही कोई नहीं बन जाता किशोर कुमार ऐसी दीवानगी देखी नहीं होगी कहीं - बात पुरानी है. खंडवा के प्रति किशोर का प्रेम तो जग जाहिर था. पर पूरी दुनिया में कंसर्ट करने वाले किशोर ने कभी खंडवा में परफार्म नहीं किया था. दूसरी ओर उन्हें छोड़कर खंडवा में मो.रफी, मन्नाडे, मुकेश सहित सभी लोग परफार्म कर चुके थे.
सो 1982 में खंडवा में किशोर नाईट के नाम से एक प्रोग्राम करना तय हुआ. किशोर कुमार के बचपन में सहपाठी रहे मांगी लाल झंवर के छोटे भाई खण्डवा निवासी गोविंद झंवर इस बारे में बताते हैं. पैसों के बिना प्रोग्राम नहीं करने वाले किशोर कुमार ने इस प्रोग्राम के लिए जेब से पैसे खर्च किए. बस उनका इंटरेस्ट इतना था कि प्रोग्राम से मिले पैसों से उनके माता पिता के नाम से ‘गौरी-कुंज आडिटोरियम’ बनाया जाए.
इस हेतु एक संस्था का गठन हुआ, लोक कल्याण परिषद. इसमें किशोर के परिचितों के अलावा रोटरी और लॉयन क्लब जैसी संस्थाएं भी जुड़ीं. किशोर पैसे लिए नहीं उलटे स्टेज वगैरा की तैयारी के लिए 35,000 अपनी जेब से दिए. माइक अरेजमेंट के लिए इंदौर के मुन्ना रेडियोज़ से खुद संपर्क किया, पैसे भी खुद ही दिए.
सात दिन पहले इंदौर आकर सिस्टम चैक भी किया. कार्यक्रम के दिन रेस्ट हाउस में रूकने के बजाए अपने घर में रूके. आयोजकों ने उनसे कहा कि घर की हालत रूकने लायक नहीं है तो भी वे नहीं माने. उन्होंने घर की मरम्मत और टायलेट वगैरा के लिए 10,000 अलग से दिए. उनके छोटे भाई अनूप कुमार चार दिन पहले खंडवा आ गए थे और अपनी देखरेख में उन्होंने घर ठीक करवाया.
