A major controversy has erupted in the southern Indian state of Kerala after a college in the state's Malappuram district banned burqa from its college premises. The circular was passed by the Muslim Education Society in Calicut on April 17 and it states that burqas in all schools and colleges under MES will be banned.

A video of UP police asking a woman to remove her burqa at a rally attended by CM Adityanath surfaced online . The woman, Saira, was apparently a BJP worker attending the rally in her traditional dress when three women officer asked her to remove the burqa.
The Incident in Balia occurred after an earlier one in Meerut on Saturday, when a group of young men displayed black flags at a rally attended by the chief minister.
According to the police, there were instructions that no one should show black cloth to CM Adityanath.
