आज विजयादशमी यानी दशहरा का त्योहार है, यह त्योहार बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत का जश्न मनाने के लिए मनाया जाता है। इस मौके पर देशभर में आज रावण का पुतला भी जलाया जाएगा. लेकिन क्या आप जानते हैं कि आज विजयादशमी के दिन सुबह-सुबह रावण की पूजा भी की जाती है!!
यह कानपुर महानगर के मध्य में स्थित कैलाश मंदिर परिसर में दशानन का मंदिर है। इस मंदिर का निर्माण 1868 में महाराज गुरु प्रसाद ने करवाया था। हर साल की तरह इस साल भी इस मंदिर के दरवाजे सुबह-सुबह खोल दिए गए हैं। इस मंदिर की खासियत यह है कि यह मंदिर पूरे साल में केवल एक ही दिन खुलता है और वह है दशहरे के दिन और यहां रावण की विधिवत पूजा की जाती है।
इसके पीछे भक्तों का तर्क यह है कि रावण एक विद्वान होने के साथ-साथ पराक्रमी भी था. उन्हें दस महाविद्याओं का पंडित भी कहा जाता है, इसलिए उनके ज्ञान और वीरता जैसे गुणों की पूजा की जाती है। कुछ लोगों का यह भी मानना है कि जो भी इस दिन रावण की पूजा करता है उसे ज्ञान और वीरता दोनों एक साथ मिलती है।
