JAMMU: An impressive Nagar Kirtan was taken out on the eve of 350th birth anniversary of 10th Sikh Guru Guru Gobind Singh here, today.

Thousands of devout Sikhs drawn from different parts of Jammu city and its outskirts participated in the Nagar Kirtan which was taken out from Gurudwara Yadgar, Chand Nagar. The birth anniversary of Guru Maharaj is falling on January 5 and traditionally every year a Nagar Kirtan is taken out in the city by Sikh devotees some days prior to it.

Organized by District Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (DGPC), the Nagar Kirtan passed via Vinayak Bazar, Dogra Chowk, Bikram Chowk, Asia Crossing, Green Belt Gandhi Nagar, Hospital road, Gandhi Nagar, Gole Market, Shiva Ji Chowk, Khalsa Chowk and culminated at Gurudwara Singh Sabha Nanak Nagar with Ardas by Sikh Sangat.

    Impressive Shoba Yatra taken out on eve of Guru Ravi Dass Jyanti

    An impressive Shoba Yatra was taken out on the eve of Guru Ravi Dass Jyanti in Jammu today.

    Attired in colorful costumes, the devotees were singing bhajans and dancing to the tune of beating of drums in the praise of Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj. Over 200 jhankis depicting the different aspects of Guru Ravi Dass Ji’s spiritual life were the part of the Shoba Yatra.

    The Shoba Yatra started from Guru Ravi Dass Temple, Krishna Nagar and after passing through Jewel Chowk, Bhagat Singh Chowk, J P Chowk, Indira Chowk, Shalamar Chowk, City Chowk, Raghunath Bazar, Gurudwara Sunder Singh road, Vivekananda Chowk, Prem Nagar and culminated at Bahu Fort.Watch Impressive Shoba Yatra taken out on eve of Guru Ravi Dass Jyanti With HD Quality

  • Impressive Shiv Barat taken out on eve of Maha Shivratri

    An impressive Shiv Barat was taken out on the eve of Maha Shivratri in Jammu today. It was organized by Shri Ranbireshwar Mandir Welfare Committee (SRMWC) along with Jammu and Kashmir Dharamarth Trust. The Shobha Yatra started at 1530 hours from Shri Ranbireshwar Ji Mandir and passed from main bazars viz. City Chowk, Raghunath Bazar, Residency road, Rajinder Bazar, Kanak Mandi, Old Hospital road, Purani Mandi, Link road, Jain Bazar, Chowk Chabutra, Panjthirthi, Pacca Danga Parade Chowk and in the end finally culminated at Shri Ranbireshwar Ji Temple. Prior to departure of Shiv Barat, Pooja of Lord Shiva was performed by Dy. CM Dr. Nirmal Singh (Chief Guest) and by other Guest of Honors viz. Rajesh Gupta (MLA), Yudhveer Sethi (BJP Senior Leader), Priya Sethi (MOS Education), Abhinav Sharma (President Bar Association Jammu), B.R.     JAMMU: An impressive ‘Shoba Yatra’ was taken out on the eve of Krishan Janmashtami today by Dharmarth Trust in collaboration with Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS), Jammu and other religious and social organizations.

    The Shoba Yatra which started from Raghu Nath Ji Temple here after passing through various markets culminated at in the Temple premises later. Earlier, before the start of Shoba Yatra the Pooja of Jhankis was performed by Sanatan Dharam Sabha at Geeta Bhawan which was followed by pooja of Shoba Murti and Swaran Rath at Raghunath Temple by the Trustees of J&K Dharmarth Trust at a grand function.

    JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Fresh landslide in Udhampur district forced the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Monday.

    A Traffic Department official said no traffic would be allowed on the highway following the landslides that occurred on Kheri road in Udhampur.
