    Gurpurab celebrated with religious fervour

    ‘Parkash Purb’ of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and religious fervour across the State today.

    The main function, on the 351st birthday of Guru Gobind Singh Ji was jointly organised by District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC), Jammu at Gurdwara Yadgar Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar (Lower Gumat), Jammu today. A large number of devotees from various parts of Jammu attended the programme and offered special prayers.

    There was huge rush of Sikh Sangat in this Gurudwara since early in the morning. Gurdwara was highly decorated by the management committee.Watch Gurpurab celebrated with religious fervour With HD Quality

  • Impressive ‘Nagar-Kirtan’ taken out on eve of Gurpurab in Jammu

    JAMMU: The Sikh community members took out an impressive `Nagar- Kirtan’ in connection with the 351st Parkash Purav of Guru Gobind Singhji in the city of temples here today.

    A large number of Sikh community members from various parts of Jammu city and other parts of district Jammu assembled at Gurdwara, Guru Nanak Devji at Lower Gumat (Chand Nagar) in the morning and started Nagar Kirtan/ Shobha Yatra. A highly decorated chariot was created by using an open vehicle where the holy Guru Granth Sahib was placed. It was fitted with loud speakers and several religious personalities of the Sikh community were leading the grand Shobha Yatra and chanting Gurvani Path.

    The programme was organised by the State Gurdwara Parbadhank Board led by TS Wazir and District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Jammu.     A Traffic Department official said no traffic would be allowed on the highway following the landslides that occurred on Kheri road in Udhampur.
