In yet another shocking incident from Jammu and Kashmir, some of the students at the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGBSU) in Rajouri refused to stand during the National Anthem.

The incident took place during a valedictory function of the Silver Rolling Trophy. Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, SSP Rajouri and Vice-Chancellor of the University were among dignitaries present on the occasion.

  • Kashmiri students remain seated during national anthem

    JAMMU LINKS NEWS | In an alleged disrespect to the national anthem, a group of students chose to remain seated while the anthem was being played at the Sher-e-Kashmir University in Srinagar.

    The incident took place during a convocation ceremony on June 4. A video, apparently shot on a mobile phone, showed most of those present at the ceremony standing during the national anthem. However, a group of students remained seated and some of them were even seen shooting the function on their phone.

    A Traffic Department official said no traffic would be allowed on the highway following the landslides that occurred on Kheri road in Udhampur.
