Police stations to get bullet-proof vehicles soon: J&K DGP

KATHUA: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) SP Vaid today said that all police stations in the Kashmir region would soon get bullet-proof vehicles, jackets and headgear.

He was speaking at the attestation-cum-passing-out parade of 947 recruit constables of 25th Best Recruit Constables batch at the Police Training School, around 80 km from here.

    ബുള്ളറ്റ് പ്രൂഫ് ജാക്കറ്റുകള്‍ ലഭിക്കാനുള്ള കരാറില്‍ കേന്ദ്രസര്‍ക്കാര്‍ ഒപ്പുവെച്ചു. മെയ്ക്ക് ഇന്‍ ഇന്ത്യ കരാറില്‍ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയാണ് 1.86 ലക്ഷം ബുള്ളറ്റ് പ്രൂഫ് ജാക്കറ്റുകള്‍ നല്‍കാന്‍ തീരുമാനമായത്. ജീവന്‍രക്ഷാ കിറ്റായ ബുള്ളറ്റ് പ്രൂഫ് ജാക്കറ്റുകള്‍ ആക്രമണസമയങ്ങളില്‍ അത്യാവശ്യമാണെന്ന് ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടിയാണ് 9 വര്‍ഷം മുമ്പ് സേന അപേക്ഷ നല്‍കിയത്.
    ഡല്‍ഹി ആസ്ഥാനമായ എസ്എംപിപി പ്രൈവറ്റ് ലിമിറ്റഡ് എന്ന കമ്പനിക്കാണ് ജാക്കറ്റുകള്‍ക്കുള്ള കരാര്‍ ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. 639 കോടിയുടെ കരാറിലാണ് ഒപ്പുവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
