Authorities today imposed restrictions in parts of Srinagar to maintain law and order in view of protests called by separatists against US President Donald Trump's decision recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Restrictions have been imposed in three police station areas of Srinagar, a police official said.
He said restrictions under Section 144 CrPc have been imposed in Safakadal, Nowhatta and M R Gunj police station areas of the city.

Authorities impose restrictions in parts of Kashmir
SRINAGAR: Restrictions were imposed in several areas in Kashmir to maintain law and order, even as a strike called by separatists disrupted normal life in the valley today.
Restrictions were in place in many areas in the valley, a police official said.

The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Saturday imposed restrictions in Srinagar to thwart the 'Million March' call given by Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Syed Ali Geelani. The restrictions have been imposed in seven police stations of Srinagar. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a rally at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar today. Large numbers of security forces have been deployed in the sensitive areas to maintain calm and to ensure no untoward elements affect the Prime Minister's visit. Restrictions have been imposed in the downtown area as well as around the venue were the Prime Minister is scheduled to address a public rally in valley.

Curfew-like restrictions imposed in downtown Srinagar
Curfew-like restrictions had been imposed as precautionary measures since early this morning in downtown and Shehar-e-Khas (SeK) Srinagar, where people are being directed to remain indoors.
Both the factions of Hurriyat Conference and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) had yesterday in a joint statement urged people to hold protests after Friday prayers against US action of branding Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) chief Syed Salahuddin as a terrorist.
Following the protest call, District Magistrate, Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, imposed restrictions under Section 144 of CrPC in area under the jurisdictions of Police Stations Nowhatta, M R Gunj, Rainawari, Khanyar and Safakadal today as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident. However, the situation on the ground was entirely different as people were not allowed to move out of their houses since early this morning in these areas. Srinagar-Jammu highway closed due to landslide
JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Fresh landslide in Udhampur district forced the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Monday.
A Traffic Department official said no traffic would be allowed on the highway following the landslides that occurred on Kheri road in Udhampur.

Terrorists abduct Pulwama man from his residence, cops find his bullet-riddled body in nearby fields
JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Terrorists on Monday barged into the house of a resident and abducted him in Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place in Pulwama's Murran. This incident took place on Sunday night.
Identified as Gulzar Bhat, his bullet-riddled body was recovered from nearby fields.
