Stolen vehicle crossed Ban Toll Plaza, tunnel unchecked

A Maruti Eco van has been stolen from the jurisdiction of Sarwal police post. However, the vehicle had been shifted to Srinagar from Jammu overnight by the thieves as the van has been spotted crossing the Ban Toll Plaza at Nagrota and Chenani-Nashri tunnel during the night hours.

As per sources, a Maruti Eco van bearing registration number JK02BT-4571 was stolen from the jurisdiction of Sarwal police post during the intervening night of June 11 and 12.

The vehicle belonged to Rohit Gupta, son of late Ashok Gupta, a resident of Quarter Number 213, Sarwal Last Morh.

The owner of the vehicle reported the matter to police and a case in this regard was registered at Bakshi Nagar police station.

    JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Fresh landslide in Udhampur district forced the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Monday.

    A Traffic Department official said no traffic would be allowed on the highway following the landslides that occurred on Kheri road in Udhampur.

    JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Terrorists on Monday barged into the house of a resident and abducted him in Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place in Pulwama's Murran. This incident took place on Sunday night.

    Identified as Gulzar Bhat, his bullet-riddled body was recovered from nearby fields.

    A case has been registered in connection with the incident.
