Army pays tribute to soldier martyred in Kashmir gunfight

Army on Wednesday paid tributes to a soldier martyred in a gunfight with militants in Kund village of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district yesterday.

In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen JS Sandhu, Corps Commander, Chinar Corps and all ranks paid homage to the slain soldier, said a spokesman.

In a show of solidarity, officials and representatives from the State Government and other security agencies also joined in paying their last respects to the slain soldier, he said.

“Late Sep Manjinder Singh sustained bullet injury during the fierce operation at Waltingu in Kulgam District.
