    Air Mobility in Short-haul Air service is focused on the transportation of relatively smaller number of goods and people compared to long-haul aviation. Air mobility is usually enabled by helicopters, Drones and smaller fixed wing crafts that do not require long runways or advanced infrastructure.

    Applications of air mobility are many, Urban Air Mobility eases congestion by making minor upgrades to existing infrastructure, like high-rise rooftops or neighbourhood maidans. Apart from easing the burden of redevelopment of massively populated zones, it can also provide timely medical care for those who are stuck in a place made inaccessible due to terrain, or disaster. They can also be used in agriculture and for making detailed project reports besides tracking infrastructure projects and for defence/surveillance applications.

    While the gains from air mobility are obvious, we are unfortunately not there yet in terms of both private and government readiness for the changes needed for this industry to be successful in India. An ecosystem that benefits everyone including users and improves India’s standing in the world is important to develop.

    Travel Solution for Future: Seamless and faster connectivity of Passengers & goods with a focus on Advanced Air mobility to provide travel solutions of the future with alternatives that are more fuel efficient, safe, less noisy and will be beneficial to both users as well as the environment.

    To catalyse the ecosystem, democratise the discussion, establish thought-leadership, develop a network, drive business for the various players and generate public opinion around Advanced Air Mobility in India.

    The Aim of the ASHA event organized by CII will be to lay the foundation for the Advanced Air Mobility Policy and regulations, post the event CII would support the Ministry of Civil Aviation to form the AAM Policy and work with the government to transform the Aviation sector.
