This weekend owes its share to Amitabh Bachchan's highly anticipated movie – Piku! That's right – the same movie that has been doing rounds for some time now! The film also stars Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan. So, are you hearing me? I am taking you to our quick film review that'll help you decide on whether to watch or not watch the film! So coming to the film's plot, Piku is an Indian comedy-drama film helmed by Shoojit Sircar. Dippy Baby portrays the titular protagonist, a Bengali architect living in New Delhi, and Amitabh Bachchan plays her ageing father. The film explores the dynamics of their relationship as they take a road trip to Kolkata. Moushumi Chatterjee, Jishu Sengupta and Irrfan Khan portray supporting roles. Quirky and funny with oodles of situational humor, the film highlights the eccentricities within every Indian family, told in signature Shoojit Sircar style. While this film about a crazy father-daughter duo is packaged with ingredients that make for a perfect family comedy, director Shoojit seems to be bringing back the slice-of-life-cinema which was made popular by filmmakers like Hrishikesh Mukherjee. All said and done - A huge admirer of Mukherjee's work, Shoojit explores a relatable story and human relationships reminiscent of Hrishikesh Mukherjee films, promising clean entertainment to the audiences after a long time. So watch it to love it and here's our Uncut rating- 3.5 stars on 5!

    There are these rumours which were floating around saying that Piku is probably a slow movie- so lets dispel those rumours right at the outset- Piku is anything but slow. And in case you do not have time to go through this whole review, in short- just go for this movie. It is a must watch. Piku is a bittersweet, masterfully crafted family drama. Shoojit Sarkar, the director who gave us Vicky Donor, the sperm donor movie, gives us the perfect family drama which revolves around constipation. Piku is about a 70 year old Bengali widower Bhaskor Banerji who is a hypochondriac whose daily discussions revolve only around his digestive system. An extremely difficult man, Bhaskar da's equally stubborn daughter, Piku (Deepika Padukone), an architect by profession, balances her job and takes care of her dad's health at the same time.

    Sandwiched between the duo is cab service owner Rana Chaudhary (Irrfan Khan) who drives them from Delhi to Kolkata and literally loses his mind handling the two on the way. Bhaskar da does not want his daughter to get married because he is scared of being left alone, and hence introduces her to every eligible suitor as - this my daughter she is financially and sexually independent.

    Amitabh Bachchan is brilliant when he is talking abut his bowel movements and other health concerns and also in the scenes when he gets protective about Piku. Deepika is completely believable all the way and it is a welcome respite to see h
