  • Waterlogging in several parts of Surat

    સુરતમાં વરસાદ વરસ્યા બાદ મેધ રાજાએ વિરામ લીધો છે. મેઘરાજાએ વિરામ લેવાના લોકોને મોટી રાહત રાહત મળી છે. ત્યારે વરસાદ વિરામ બાદ પણ સુરતમાં પૂર જેવા દૃશ્યો જોવા મળ્યા હતા. વરસાદ પછી લિંબાયત વિસ્તારમાં આવેલી મીઠી ખાડીમાં પાણી વધી જવાના કારણે લીંબાયત અને પર્વતગામમાં ખાડીનું કેમિકલ વાળું ગંદુ પાણી સમગ્ર વિસ્તારમાં ફરી વળ્યું હતું.

    લીંબાયત અને પર્વતગામમાં ખાડીનું કેમિકલ વાળું ફરી વળ્યાં જાણ ફાયર વિભાગને થતા ડુંભાલ ફાયર સ્ટેશનના ફાયર અધિકારી અને તેની ટિમ લોકોને રેસ્ક્યુ કરવા માટે લીંબાયત વિસ્તારમાં પહોંચી હતી. ફાયર ફાયટરની ટિમ દ્વારા બોટ મારફતે ગંદા પાણીમાં ફસાયેલા 52 જેટલા લોકોને રેસ્ક્યુ કરીને સલામત સ્થળે પહોંચાડવામાં આવ્યા હતા. ખાડીનું કેમિકલ વાળું ગંદુ પાણી લીંબાયત વિસ્તારમાં આવેલા આવાસમાં વધારે પ્રમાણમાં ફરી વળ્યું હતું. આવાસમાં પાણી ભરાઈ જવાના કારણે રસ્તાઓ પણ બંધ થઈ ગયા હતા જેના કારણે સ્થાનિક લોકો પોતાના કામ ધંધે જઈ શક્યા ન હતા.

    ફાયર ઓફિસર બી.કે સોલંકીના જણાવ્યાનુંસાર લિંબાયત અને પરવત ગામ વિસ્તારમાંથી પસાર થતી મીઠી ખાડીમાં પાણી વધી જવાને કારણે મીઠી ખાડીનું પાણી વિસ્તારમાં ફરીવળ્યું હતું. પાણી વિસ્તારમાં ફરી વળવાનું મુખ્ય કારણ લીંબાયત વિસ્તારમાં આવેલા ઉદ્યોગોના ગંદા પાણીના નિકાલ માટે ઉદ્યોગકારો દ્વારા વરસાદી પાણીની ગટરો ડાઈવર્ટ કરી છે. ગટરો ડાયવર્ટ કરવાના કારણે ઉદ્યોગોની ગંદુપાણી ગટરના ચેમ્બરથી સીધું ખાડીમાં જમા થાય છે.
