    She gets up at 5 in the morning and after finishing all her household chores, leaves for school. She is a teacher at Anganwadi and says 'she loves spending time with children'. She doesn't have to travel far as the school is just round the corner from her home. Today she leads a comfortable life and is able to run her house smoothly.

    Aanganwadi provide supplementary nutrition, non-formal pre-school education, nutrition and health education, immunization, health check-up etc in the village. In 2013, The UPA led Congress government had proposed opening of 27,000 new Aanganwadi centres under the Integrated Child Development Scheme.

    He feels, critics of India's development see things in isolation and overlook facts. In the last ten years India has recorded high growth rate despite a debilitating global recession. "People talk about high inflation. But they forget that if prices have gone up, so have salaries," says Mukhtadir.
