    ലോക്സഭാ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിലെ കനത്ത തോല്‍വിക്കുശേഷം കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് വിമുക്ത ഭാരതം എന്ന മുദ്രാവാക്യം ഉയര്‍ന്ന രാഷ്ട്രീയ സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് ഇന്നത്തെ നിലയിലേക്ക് എത്തുമ്പോള്‍ കോണ്‍ഗ്രസിന്റെ അതിജീവനമല്ല പുനരുദ്ധാരണമാണ് തന്റെ ലക്ഷ്യമെന്ന് പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുകയാണ് രാഹുല്‍.
    സോണിയാ ഗാന്ധിയില്‍ നിന്ന് പ്രസിഡന്റ് സ്ഥാനം ഏറ്റെടുത്തതിന് ശേഷം രാഹുല്‍ നേടിയ ആദ്യ വിജയം 2018 ജനുവരിയില്‍ നടന്ന ഉപതെരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പുകളിലായിരുന്നു.
    ബി.ജെ.പി വിജയിച്ചിരുന്ന ആല്‍വാര്‍, അജ്മേര്‍ ലോക്സഭാ മണ്ഡലങ്ങളിലെ വിജയത്തിലൂടെ തന്നെ എഴുതിത്തള്ളാനാകില്ലെന്ന് രാഹുല്‍ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. എന്നാല്‍, പിന്നീട് നടന്ന മേഘാലയ നിയമസഭാ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പില്‍ പാര്‍ട്ടിയെ തകര്‍ച്ചയില്‍ നിന്ന് കരകയറ്റാന്‍ രാഹുലിന് കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല. എന്നാല്‍, ആ ക്ഷീണം രാഹുല്‍ തീര്‍ത്തത് കര്‍ണാടക തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പിലായിരുന്നു.
    കര്‍ണാടകയില്‍ 80 സീറ്റ് നേടിയ കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് 104 സീറ്റ് നേടി ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഒറ്റകക്ഷിയായ ബി.ജെ.പിയെ മറികടന്ന് ജെ.ഡി.എസുമായി ചേര്‍ന്ന് സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ രൂപവത്കരിച്ചു. തുടര്‍ന്ന് രാഹുല്‍ പ്രധാന്യം കൊടുത്തത് കോണ്‍ഗ്രസി
