Gold prices fall Rs 86 to Rs 29,505 per 10 grams in futures trade on Thursday trade as participants reduced their positions, largely in line with a weak trend overseas.

  • Sensex, Nifty start on a cautious note amid weak global cues

    Domestic equity benchmarks BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened on a cautious note Tuesday as investors await RBI's monetary policy decision, amid weak cues from global markets. After scaling lifetime highs in the previous session, the 30-share index was trading 15.27 points, or 0.04 per cent, lower at 40,252.35, and the broader Nifty slipped 10.10 points, or 0.04 per cent, to 12,077.90.

    The Indian equity markets' stellar rally on the back of the government's corporate tax break announcement was broken on Wednesday as the key indices opened in red on the back of weak global cues. At 09:18 am, the BSE S&P Sensex was down by 200 points at 38,897 while the Nifty 50 down by 54 points at 11,533.

  • Sensex drops 300 pts on weak global cues, Nifty slips below 11,300; YES Bank surges 19%

    The BSE benchmark Sensex plunged over 300 points in opening trade on Thursday amid subdued global cues. Likewise, the NSE gauge Nifty too dropped over 85 points to slip below the psychological 11,300-level. At 9.18 AM, the BSE Sensex was trading at 38,004.68, lower by 300.73 points or 0.80 per cent from the previous close of 38,305.41 points. It has touched an intra-day high of 38,873.12 and a low of 38,584.18 points. The Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange was trading at 11,274.80 points, lower by 85.10 points or 0.75 per cent from its previous close.

  • Sensex tumbles 229 pts on weak global cues; Nifty ends below 11,850

    Benchmark BSE Sensex on Wednesday dived 229 points as concerns over poor macro data and confusion over US-China trade deal persisted. Further, continued unrest in Hong Kong led to fall in regional markets, also impacting sentiment on Indian bourses. After gyrating 386 points during the day, the 30-share Sensex ended 229.02 points, or 0.57 per cent, lower at 40,116.06. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty fell 73 points, or 0.61 per cent, to end at 11,840.45.
