Sensex jumps 212 pts on Budget proposals, Nifty ends at 10,894

Benchmark Sensex ended over 212 points higher in see-saw trade Friday after the government presented a farm-friendly, consumption-oriented Budget ahead of the general elections. After rallying over 500 points to hit the day's high of 36,778.14, the 30-share index gave up all gains and sank to 36,221.32 in late-afternoon trade. It finally ended 212.74 points, or 0.59 per cent, higher at 36,469.43. Similarly, the 50-share NSE Nifty jumped 62.70 points, or 0.58 per cent, to close at 10,893.65.

    Sensex jumps 139 pts, Nifty ends at 11,690; TCS rallies nearly 5%

    Equity benchmark Sensex added another 139 points on Monday, marking third straight session of gains, as encouraging start of the earnings season by IT major TCS boosted investors' sentiment. After rising over 200 points intra-day, the 30-share BSE index finally settled 138.73 points, or 0.36 per cent, higher at 38,905.84. The broader NSE Nifty rose 46.90 points, or 0.40 per cent, to close at 11,690.35. The rally was mainly driven by Sensex heavyweight TCS, soaring 4.78 per cent, which posted strong Q4 numbers.

  • Market ends higher for 6th day; Sensex gains 71 pts, Nifty ends at 11,462 | March 18, 2019

    Extending its winning streak to the sixth consecutive session, the BSE Sensex gained over 70 points Monday as stocks made further headway powered by unabated foreign fund inflows and narrowing country's trade deficit amid positive global cues. The 30-share benchmark advanced to hit a high of 38,369.59 as buying activity gathered momentum. However, investors locked in gains pushing the key index into the negative zone to hit a low of 37,952.10 before bouncing back to end 70.75 points, or 0.19 per cent, higher at 38,095.07. Likewise, the 50-stock NSE Nifty finished 35.35 points, or 0.31 per cent, higher at 11,462.20 after hitting the day's high of 11,530.15 and a low of 11,412.50.

    The BSE benchmark Sensex continued its winning run for the fifth straight session Monday, rallying 192 points, and the NSE Nifty inched toward the 11,000 mark, riding on strong Q3 earnings by some bluechip companies, coupled with positive global cues. The 30-share index settled at 36,578.96, up 192.35 points, or 0.53 per cent. The Nifty touched the session high (intra-day) of 10,987.45; and finally closed the session with a rise of 54.90 points, or 0.50 per cent, at 10,961.85.

    Reversing a nine-session falling streak, the BSE Sensex rebounded 404 points Wednesday as investors snapped up recently hammered stocks amid optimism in global markets over the US-China trade talks. After a firm opening, the 30-share index stayed in the positive terrain throughout the session before finally finishing at 35,756.26, up 403.65 points, or 1.14 per cent. The broader NSE Nifty soared 131.10 points, or 1.24 per cent, to 10,735.45. In the past nine sessions, the Sensex had lost 1,622.62 points, while the Nifty cracked 465.05 points over eight trading days.

  • Sensex jumps 194 pts as crude oil cools, Nifty reclaims 11,000

    Sensex furthered its gains for the third straight session Wednesday, rising over 193 points to 36,636.10 on sustained buying mainly in finance, energy and metal counters. The Sensex started on a positive note at 36,544.86 in the morning and touched a high of 36,666.47 and low of 36,456.82 during the session. Intra-day, the index saw a movement of over 209 points. It finally settled the day at 36,636.10, higher by 193.56 points, or 0.53 per cent. The NSE Nifty opened at 11,024.85 and hit a high of 11,062.30 and low of 10,998.85 during the day. The index swung around 65 points during the trading session. It closed at 11,053, showing a rise of 65.55 points, or 0.60 per cent.

In the video, the man is heard saying that he got oxygen supply from patients snapped for 5 mins. The man, in the video, added that this was part of an experiment to know who all will survive. Reports suggest the video is purportedly of Arinjay Jain, owner of Paras Hospital on NH 2. UP health dept has ordered a probe into the incident after the video went viral.
