Gurgaon will now be called Gurugram. The name change was announced in Chandigarh by the Manohar Lal Khattar government, which said it was keeping its poll promise. A government spokesperson said Guru Dronacharya, the guru of the Pandavas in the Mahabharata, had his ashram here. Officials in the chief minister's office said the decision to rename Gurgaon was taken following representations from several forums.

Reacting to the decision, a Gurgaon resident said that the entire nation knows the place as Gurgaon, adding that Gurugram will take a lot of time to attain same popularity as 'Gurgaon'. Meanwhile, another resident welcomed the decision, saying Guru means 'God' and that no one should have any problem with it.

    ઔદ્યોગિક રીતે વિકસિત ભરૂચ જિલ્લામાં એક એવુ ગામ આવેલું છે જેમાં પ્રવેશતા જ જાણે આપણે આફ્રિકાના કોઈ ગામમાં ફરતા હોય એવો અહેસાસ થાય છે. મૂળ આફ્રિકાના એવા સિદ્દિ જનજાતિના વસતી ધરાવતા આ ગામમાં 250 જેટલા સિદ્દિ કોમના લોકો રહે છે. જેઓના અહીં આગમન પાછળ ઘણો રસપ્રદ ઇતિહાસ જોડાયેલો છે. ત્યારે મિની આફ્રિકા તરીકે ઓળખાતા ભરૂચ જિલ્લાના ગામની વિશે જાણીએ.

    વિવિધતામાં એકતા એ ભારત દેશની ઓળખ રહી છે. વર્ષો પહેલાં અનેક વિદેશીઓ ભારતમાં આવી વસ્યા હતા અને જેમ દૂધમાં સાકર ભળી જાય એમ અહીંના લોકો સાથે ભળી ગયા. આવી જ એક જાતિ એટલે સિદ્દિ કમ્યુનિટી. ગુજરાતના મિની આફ્રિકા તરીકે ઓળખાતું અનોખું ગામ ભરૂચ જિલ્લાના ઝઘડિયા તાલુકામાં આવેલું છે. રતનપોર ગામમાં પ્રવેશતાની સાથે જ આપણે આફ્રિકાના કોઈ ગામમાં ફરતા હોય એવો અહેસાસ થાય છે. રતનપોર ગામમાં સિદ્દિ સભ્યતાના 250 જેટલા લોકો રહે છે. આ સમાજના લોકો અહીં કેવી રીતે આવ્યા તેની પાછળ રસપ્રદ ઇતિહાસ જોડાયેલો છે. આશરે 700 વર્ષ પૂર્વે સૂદાન દેશના સરહદી ગામ સઇડીયહ ગામમાંથી શેખ મુબારકનબી નામના બાદશાહ ભાવનગરના ઘોઘા બંદરથી અહીં વસ્યા હતા.

    કહેવાય છે કે શેતાનનો ખાત્મો કરવાના હેતુથી અલ્લાહતાલાએ તેઓને કબિલા સાથે અહીં મોકલ્યા હતા. સઇડીયહ ગામના વતની હોવાથી તેઓને સિદ્દિ કહેવામાં આવે છે. આ બાદ આ જનજાતિના લોકો અહીં જ વસી ગયા. રતનપોર ગામે શેખ મુબારકનબીની દરગાહ પણ આવેલી છે. જેને બાવાગોરની દરગાહ તરીકે ઓળખવામાં આવે છે. અહીં દૂર દૂરથી લોકો આવી માથું ટેકવે છે અને તેઓની મનોકામના પૂર્ણ થાય છે. રતનપોર ગામમાં સિદ્દિ સભ્યતાના લોકોના 70થી 80 ઘર આવેલા છે.
