    കനത്ത കടുത്ത കുടിവെള്ള ക്ഷാമം നേരിടുന്ന പ്രദേശമാണ് മധ്യപ്രദേശിലെ ടികാംഗഡ് എന്ന ഗ്രാമം. കഴിഞ്ഞ മൂന്ന് വര്‍ഷമായി ഗ്രാമവാസികള്‍ വെള്ളത്തിന് വേണ്ടി പോരാടുന്നു.ദൈനംദിന ആവശ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി അഞ്ച് കിലോമീറ്ററോളം ദിവസവും യാത്ര ചെയ്താണ് ഗ്രാമീണര്‍ വെള്ളം ശേഖരിക്കുന്നത്. 3000 ജനസംഖ്യയുള്ള ഈ ഗ്രാമത്തില്‍ ഭൂരിഭാഗം പേരും കര്‍ഷകരും ചെറുകിട കച്ചവടക്കാരുമാണ്. നിരവധി പരാതികള്‍ നല്‍കിയതിനെ തുടര്‍ന്ന് കേന്ദ്ര-സംസ്ഥാന സര്‍ക്കാരുകള്‍ പദ്ധതികള്‍ പലതും ആരംഭിച്ചെങ്കിലും കുടിവെള്ളത്തിന്റെ കാര്യത്തില്‍ മാത്രം തീരുമാനമായില്ല
    ''വെള്ളത്തിനായി ഉത്തര്‍പ്രദേശ് അതിര്‍ത്തി വരെ ഞങ്ങള്‍ യാത്ര ചെയ്യാറുണ്ട്. വെള്ളമെടുക്കാന്‍ പോകേണ്ടതിനാല്‍ ഇവിടെയുള്ള കുട്ടികള്‍ക്ക് സ്‌കൂളില്‍ പോകാന്‍ കഴിയാറില്ല. കുടിവെള്ളം ഇല്ലാത്തതിനാല്‍ ഗ്രാമത്തിലെ സ്ത്രീകള്‍ ദിവസവും അഞ്ച് കിലോമീറ്ററോളം നടന്നാണ് വെള്ളം ശേഖരിക്കാന്‍ പോകുന്നത്'', ഗ്രാമവാസികള്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.കുടിവെള്ള ക്ഷാമത്തിന് പുറമെ സ്‌കൂള്‍, റോഡ്, വൈദ്യുതി തുടങ്ങി അടിസ്ഥാനസൗകര്യങ്ങളുടെ കുറവും ടികാംഗഡ് ഗ്രാമത്തെ വലയ്ക്കുന്നു.
