सामाजिक प्रबोधना नंतरही अजूनही समाजात एचआयव्ही बाधीतांना हीन वागणूक दिली जातेय. एक वेळ अशिक्षितांचं ठीक पण चक्क रुग्णांना जीवदान देणार्‍या औषध कंपन्याही असं वागत असल्यानं गंभीरवास्तव समोर आलंय . . सेंटॉर या औषध निर्माण कंपनीनं एचआयव्ही असल्यानं एका महिलेला नोकरीवरुन काढलं. माञ तीन वर्षांच्या न्यायालयीन लढाईत पिडीतेला न्याय मिळालाय. कामगार न्यायालयानं पिडितेला नुकसान भरपाई देऊन कामावर घेण्याचा आदेश दिलाय. जागतीक एड्स दिनाच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर न्यायालयानं एड्सग्रस्तांना हिन वागणूक देणार्‍यांना ही एक चपराक बसवलीय.
पिडीत महिलेला पतीकडून एचआयव्हीची लागण झाली होती. एड्सनं पतीचं निधन झाल्यावर न खचता तिनं पुन्हा उभारी घेतली. 2010 साली पिडीत महिला सेंटाॅर या फार्मा कंपनीत नोकरीला लागली. प्रॉडक्शनला ज्युनियर अॉपरेटर पदी रुजू झाली. पिडीतेनं पाच वर्षे कंपनीत चांगलं काम केलं. यावेळी पिडितेला एचआयव्हीची लागण झाल्याचं कंपनीच्या निदर्शनास आलं. त्यामुळं कंपनीनं एचआयव्हीग्रस्त असल्यानं नोकरीतून काढून टाकलं.
या पीडित महिलेनं न खचता कंपनीला न्यायालयात खेचलं. तीन वर्षांच्या न्यायालयीन लढाईत पिडीतेनं यश मिळवलं. कामगार न्यायालयानं पिडितेला नुकसान भरपाई देऊन आणि कामावर घेण्याचा आदेश दिलाय. या औषध निर्माण कंपनीची असंवेदनशीलता माणुसकीला काळिमा फासणारी आहे. त्यामुळं शिक्षणा बरोबरच माणसांना सुसंस्कृत करणं गरजेचं आहे.

Baby with HIV cured, doctors says
Doctors say they have cured an infant born with HIV for the first time by giving her a cocktail of drugs shortly after birth, a result that could point the way toward saving the lives of thousands more infected children.
The baby, whose identity has been kept anonymous, began taking a regimen of AIDS drugs about 30 hours after she was born at a rural Mississippi hospital, doctors said Sunday at a medical meeting in Atlanta. At 18 months, the mother took the child off the medication. With no signs of the virus for 10 months, the infant was deemed "functionally cured," researchers said.
HIV treatments can hold the disease at bay, though stopping the drugs can be a death sentence since it allows infected cells secreted within the immune system to re-emerge, spreading the virus anew. Administering the mix of drugs right after birth may have stopped the virus from forming hidden reservoirs. If confirmed in further studies, the approach could help cure some of the 300,000 children infected each year with the AIDS virus.

US Scientists say Baby Born with HIV Cured Video
New findings could be especially critical for AIDS-plagued African countries where many babies are born with virus.
A baby girl who was born with HIV has been cured after very early treatment with standard drug therapy, US researchers have said, in a potentially groundbreaking case that could help eradicate HIV infection in its youngest victims.
Specialists made the announcement on Sunday at a major AIDS meeting in the US city of Atlanta.
"This is a proof of concept that HIV can be potentially curable in infants," said Dr. Deborah Persaud, a virologist at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, who presented the findings.
The baby girl was born in a rural hospital in the state of Mississippi and her mother had just tested positive for HIV infection.
A team of doctors at the University of Mississippi Medical Centre in Jackson then put the infant on a cocktail of three standard HIV-fighting drugs when she was just 30 hours old.
That fast action apparently knocked out the HIV in the baby's blood before it could form reservoirs in the body.
The new findings could be especially critical for AIDS-plagued African countries where many babies are born with the virus, researchers said.
