ट्रक चालकों के लिए सेना के जवान 'देवदूत' बने। उन्होंने बर्फबारी के बीच फंसे 140 ट्रक चालकों को बचाया और सुरक्षित अपने शिविरों तक लेकर आई। इस दौरान सेना के जवानों ने चालकों के लिए खाने-पीने और रहने की व्यवस्था भी की।

    जौनपुर। कई वर्षो से दो गांवो से आ रही बारात इस वर्ष भी वगैर दुल्हन के वापस लौट गयी। दोनो गांवो से हाथी घोड़े पर सवार होकर आये दुल्हे और बाराती बैण्ड बाजे के धुन पर थिरकते हुए पहुंचे थे, शादी करने के लिए लेकिन इस वर्ष भी दूल्हो और बारातियों को मायूसी ही हाथ लगी। लौटते समय दोनो गांव के लोगो ने अगले वर्ष आज के ही दिन फिर बरात लेकर आने की चेतवानी देकर वापस लौट गये। यह हकीकत नही बल्की दो गांवो बीच 140 वर्षो चली आ रही एक परम्परा का हिस्सा है। यह परम्परा हर वर्ष कजरी के दिन निभाई जाती है। जिला मुख्यालय 7 किलो मीटर दूर उसी परम्परागत के अनुसार इस बार भी राजेपुर और कजगांव दोनों गांवो से कई लोग दूल्हे का रूप धारण करके सैकड़ो समर्थको के साथ बाजार के आखिरी छोर पर स्थित पोखरे के किनारों पर बारात रोककर एक-दूसरे से पूर्व की तरह परम्परानुसार गाली-गलौज कर अपने को दूल्हा बताकर शादी के लिये ललकारते हैं। हालांकि बिना दूल्हन के अगले वर्ष फिर बारात लेकर आने की बात कहते हुये चले जाते हैं। लगभग 140 वर्षों का इतिहास संजोये टेढ़वा स्थित पोखरे पर राजेपुर व कजगांव की ऐतिहासिक बारातें पूर्व की भांति बुधवार को आयीं जिसमें हाथी, घोड़े, ऊंट पर सवार बैण्ड-बाजे की धुन पर बाराती घण्टों जमकर थिरके लेकिन इस वर्ष भी दोनों गांव से आये दूल्हों की इच्छा पूरी नहीं हो सकी और बिना शादी व दूल्हन के बारात वापस चली गयी। यहां के लोगों के अनुसार
    जिसके बाद से यह मेला शुरू हुआ। मेले से पूर्व जहां कजगांव में जगह-जगह मण्डप गड़ जाते हैं, वहीं महिलाएं मंगल गीत गाती हैं। यही हाल राजेपुर में भी होता है जहां पूर्ण वैदिक रीति के अनुसार मण्डप लगाकर मांगलिक गीत होता है। मेले के दिन महिलाएं बकायदे उसी ढंग से बारात विदा करती हैं जैसे वास्तविक में बारात जाती है। गाजे-बाजे के साथ पोखरे पर बारात पहुंचती है जहां दोनों छोर के बाराती शादी के लिये ललकारते हैं लेकिन सूर्यास्त के साथ बिना शादी के बारात वापस चली जाती है। यह मेला पूरी तरह आपसी सौहार्द व भाईचारा का मेला है जो परम्परागत ढंग से होता है।
