કડી વિસ્તારમાં આવેલા અભ્યારણ્યમાં કાળિયારની સંખ્યામાં થઈ રહ્યો છે ઘટાડો

કડી તાલુકો કાળિયારની ભૂમિ તરીકે ઓળખાય છે. કણજરી બાવલુ અને થોળની આસપાસના ખેતરો ચંચળ, શરમાળ અને ખૂબ જ મનોહકરૂપ ધરાવતા કાળિયારથી ઊભરાઈ રહ્યા છે. વર્ષ 2010ની વસતી ગણતરીમાં આ વિસ્તારમાં 1320 કાળિયાર નોંધાયા હતા. ત્યારે હાલ કાળિયારની સંખ્યામાં ઘટાડો થયો છે.

કડી અને અમદાવાદના સીમાડાના ખેતરોમાં જોવા મળતા કાળિયારના વસવાટનો પ્રશ્ન વર્ષોથી વણ ઉકલ્યો છે. કડીના 34 ગામોમાં કાળિયારની વસ્તી જોવા મળે છે. તેમ છતા સરકારે આ વિસ્તારને કાળિયાર માટેનો રક્ષિત પ્રદેશ એટલે કે અભયારણ્ય તરીકે પ્રચલિત છે. જો કે મોજીલા કાળિયાર પ્રાણીને ભાવિ પેઢી માત્ર ચોપડીઓમાં જ જોઈ શકશે તેવી દહેશત તોળાઈ રહી છે, કારણ કે કાળિયાર એ લુપ્ત થતી પ્રજાતી બનવા લાગી છે. તેથી કેન્દ્ર સરકારે તેને રક્ષિત પ્રાણી જાહેર કરેલું છે. કડી, અમદાવાદ અને કલોલ સીમાડાના ખેતરોમાં આ કાળિયાર મોટી સંખ્યામાં જોવા મળે છે.

કડી તાલુકાનો થોળ વિસ્તાર કાળિયાર અભયારણ્ય તરીકે પ્રચલિત બન્યો છે. ત્યારે આ વિસ્તાર નર્મદાની મુખ્ય કેનાલ ઉપરાંત સબ કેનાલોની માયાજાળથી કાળિયાર માટેના ખુલ્લા મેદાનો ઘટ્યા છે અને તેની સાથે ઘાસચારો અને પીવાના પાણીની વ્યવસ્થા ખોરવાઈ છે, જેની સીધી અસર કાળિયાર પ્રાણીની સંખ્યા ઉપર પડી છે.
