Centre Makes A U-Turn On Kohinoor Diamond

The Central government has done a cause correction or U turn after telling the Supreme Court that the Kohinoor Diamond claimed by India was actually a gift to the Britishers from erstwhile Sikh rulers. Now a Senior Government Officials have told that India will do whatever it can to bring back the gem. This comes after RSS had expressed its displeasure over governments stand and said that Kohinoor belongs to India and was unfairly taken away by the former Colonial rulers.

    कोहिनूर हीरे को लेकर दाखिल एक जनहित याचिका पर केंद्र सरकार की तरफ से कोर्ट में पेश हुए सॉलीसिटर जनरल ने कहा कि संस्कृति मंत्रालय के मुताबिक सीधे तौर पर कोहिनूर पर दावा नहीं किया जा सकता क्योंकि कोहिनूर को लूटकर नहीं ले जाया गया और ना ही वो चोरी हुआ है बल्कि महाराजा रंजीत सिंह ने ईस्ट इंडिया कंपनी को कोहिनूर हीरा दिया था। इस पूरे मामले पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र सरकार से 6 हफ्ते में जवाब मांगा है। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने साथ ही यह भी कहा कि इस याचिका को लंबित रखा जाएगा क्योंकि अगर यह खारिज होती है तो केस कमजोर हो जाएगा। और कहा जाएगा कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केस खारिज कर दिया है।
