Kelly Ripa co-host to be named Sept. 4 Video.

Disney-ABC Domestic Television has found a co-host for Kelly Ripa but won't say who it is until the syndie show's season premiere on Sept. 4.

The network announced Monday that Ripa will be joined with an unnamed new co-host next month. Ripa has been flying solo since last November when her longtime co-host Regis Philbin exited the chair. "Live With Regis and Kelly" was renamed "Live with Kelly" ever since.

Ripa has been paired with over 50 different co-hosts over the past year, with rumors flying all the while as to who would get the assignment. Replacement candidates have included Rob Lowe, Seth Meyers and her husband, Mark Consuelos.

I feel really, really strong. Doctors say this is a 'good' kind of cancer to have ... My doctor did tell me this is a happily ever after ending kind of thing."

    The mother of four has been sharing the personal experience with fans via her Modern Mom blog. On Wednesday, the day of her surgery, Burke revealed how she told her kids she had cancer.

    "I decided not to tell my children about my diagnosis for as long as I possibly could because I didn't want them to worry," she wrote in a blog post. "I know that my younger ones still don't have a great concept of time and I didn't want them to be anxious, worried and asking 1,000 questions."

    When Burke finally decided it was time to have the conversation, she told her 12-year-old daughter first.

    Inauguration day for Kelly Ripa’s new co-host will be Sept. 4, the producers of her show said Monday, without saying who the co-host would be.

    They said Ms. Ripa would start the new season of “Live! With Kelly” alone on Sept. 3, then be joined by her new partner the next day. Her show has been searching for that person since Regis Philbin left last winter.

    Since then, 59 men and women have been guest hosts, Disney-ABC Domestic Television pointed out in a news release on Monday. The producers are said to be seeking an entertainer to sit next to Ms. Kelly, someone like Seth Meyers, the “SNL” comic who filled in on “Live! With Kelly” several times earlier this summer. Mr. Meyers subsequently denied reports that he was going to become Ms. Ripa’s co-host.

    Whoever it is, teasing the audience with the announcement date two weeks in advance assures that the show will receive a bump in the ratings when the co-host is revealed.

    "Live!" co-host Kelly Ripa says she hasn't seen Regis Philbin since he left their New York morning talk show in November 2011.

    The pair worked together for more than a decade before Philbin, 81, left after a salary dispute with the show's producers.

    "I haven't seen him, no," Ripa told "Entertainment Tonight" at The Hollywood Reporter's celebration honoring the 35 Most Powerful People in Media list.

    Ripa attended the event with Philbin's replacement, former NFL star Michael Strahan, who permanently joined the show last year.

    Asked to compare Philbin and Strahan, Ripa replied, "Well, they're both incredible storytellers.

    "They are both fiercely competitive, and they're both incredible football players," she added.
