सात दिवसीय भारत दौरे पर आए पुर्तगाल के प्रधानमंत्री के साथ भारत ने कुल सात समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। दोनों देशों के बीच आतंकवाद, सुरक्षा, व्यापार और निवेश सहित विभिन्न द्विपक्षीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय मुद्दों पर समझौता किया गया। इससे पहले प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने पुर्तगाल के प्रधानमंत्री एंटोनियो कोस्टा से मुलाकात की, जिसके बाद दोनों देशों की तरफ से समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए। इस दौरान पीएम मोदी ने कहा कि व्यापार और निवेश के क्षेत्रों में संबंधों को और प्रगाढ़ बनाना दोनों देशों की प्राथमिकता है। इसके साथ ही पीएम ने कहा कि कोस्टा के साथ आतंकवाद के खतरे के खिलाफ अंतरराष्ट्रीय समुदाय को शीघ्र कदम उठाये जाने की आवश्यकता पर भी चर्चा की गयी। भारत दौरे पर आए पुर्तगाल के पीएम एंटोनियो कोस्टा ने प्रधानमंत्री को तोहफे के तौर पर मशहूर फुटबाल खिलाड़ी क्रिस्टियानो रोनाल्डो की जर्सी भेंट की, तो वहीं मोदी ने डांडिया और पुर्तगाली डांस पर बना एक डाक टिकट जारी किया। इसके साथ ही पीएम मोदी ने कोस्टा को उनके पिता के नॉवेल का अंग्रेजी अनुवाद भी भेंट स्वरुप दिया। आपको बता दें कि संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद में पुर्तगाल ने भारत की स्थायी सदस्यता के लिए भी समर्थन किया था।
