This is a song about crossing to a different shore and how the Boatman is the guiding spirit who ferries people across the river. It talks about how the boatman is the only beacon of light amidst the swirling darkness of the river. And about how his presence gives migrants a sense of hope & calm.
This is a recurring theme in Nitin's set because he was brought up in different countries and considers his parents to have migrated similarly; wherein they were taken across the river to start afresh in a new land.

    This song is loosely based on Nitin's life in South Africa, where he went to school. The song showcases an element of alienation that one feels in a strange, new land. And the clashes that are inevitable because of power equations that form when different cultures come together.

Karsh had worked with Sultan Khan before as part of Tabla Beat Science. This song features Ustad Sultan Khan's son Sabir Khan on the saarangi in what is an emotional reminiscing of the time Karsh and Ust. Sultan Khan performed.

    This is a folk song from Madhya Pradesh. In ancient times, the journey from one place to another would take days. People while travelling would then usually sing to ensure everyone is safe. A member/group at the front of the caravan would sing loudly (lambi ter) and the members/groups at the end would sing back as a response, thereby ensuring connectivity.
