10 अगस्त 2017 में पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री वीरभद्र सिंह द्वारा बिलासपुर में अंतराष्ट्रीय स्तर के ऑडिटोरियम की आधारशिला रखी गयी थी जिसको लेकर 12 करोड़ की धनराशि पीडब्लूडी विभाग को जारी की गई थी मगर आजतक इस दिशा में कोई ठोस कदम नहीं उठाया गया है बल्कि वर्तमान बीजेपी सरकार के कार्यकाल में इस ऑडिटोरियम को मंडी शिफ्ट किया जा रहा है यह कहना है बिलासपुर से कांग्रेस पार्टी के पूर्व विधायक और जिला कांग्रेस कमेटी के अध्यक्ष बम्बर ठाकुर का.
