Former Chief Election Commissioner TN Seshan passes away

Former chief election commissioner TN Seshan, who led the game-changing electoral reforms in the country in the 1990s, died here on Sunday following a cardiac arrest.He was 86.The legendary Seshan was not keeping good health for the past couple of years and he passed away at about 9.30pm, a senior police official told PTI.

    भारत के पूर्व मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त टीएन शेषन का चेन्नई में निधन हो गया। वो 86 साल के थे। लेकिन टीएन शेषन कोई आम चुनाव आयुक्त नहीं थे। 90 के दशक में देश के चुनावी ढांचे में सुधार और चुनाव आयोग को मजबूत बनाने का श्रेय टीएन शेषन को जाता है। 1955 बैच के आईएएस अधिकारी रहे टीएन शेषन 12 दिसंबर 1990 को भारत के 10वें मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त नियुक्त हुए थे। वो अपने सख्त मिजाज और स्पष्टवादिता के लिए जाने जाते थे।
