प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने बुधवार को महात्मा गांधी की 150वीं जयंती पर यहां राज घाट पर राष्ट्रपिता को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की। वह राज घाट पर कुछ समय के लिए रुके और वहां सर्व-धर्म प्रार्थना सभा आयोजित की गई।

पीएम मोदी ने ट्वीट किया, “प्रिय बापू को 150वीं जयंती पर श्रद्धांजलि। हम मानवता के लिए महात्मा गांधी के स्थाई योगदान के लिए उनका आभार व्यक्त करते हैं। हम उनके सपनों को साकार करने और बेहतर विश्व बनाने के लिए कड़ी मेहनत जारी रखने का संकल्प लेते हैं।”
