Nahan (Himachal Pradesh) : In five villages of Gram Panchayat Naya Panjod of Shillai sub-division of Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, serving of liquor and other expensive customs during social and marriage ceremonies has been banned. This decision was taken by the intellectuals and youth of the village itself. Regarding this, an annual meeting of the people of five villages was held in the Mahasu Devta temple complex of Naya village, in which many important decisions were taken. During this, people expressed their views to reduce some customs and perform them in a simple way. It was decided that there will be a ban on serving liquor at wedding ceremonies and parties. The tradition of taking and giving dowry in the marriage of the girl was also stopped.
