In a major development from terror-stricken Jammu and Kashmir, a group of heavily-armed terrorists have been intercepted close to the Line of Control in Uri sector, the same area that witnessed a massive showdown of terror attack against security forces in 2016.

    जम्मू–कश्मीर में बांदीपोरा ज़िले के शाहगुंड हाजिन इलाके में बुधवार रात से आतंकियों और सुरक्षाबलों के बीच मुठभेड़ जारी है...इस फायरिंग में दो जवानों के घायल होने की खबर है...बताया जा रहा है कि सेना को बांदीपोरा के हाजी इलाके में कुछ आतंकियों के छिपे होने की खबर मिली थी.. जिसके बाद सेना की राष्ट्रीय राइफल्स और जम्मू-कश्मीर पुलिस के स्पेशल ऑपरेशन ग्रुप ने इलाके में सर्च अभियान शुरू कर दिया...इसी दौरान आतंकियों ने जवानों पर गोलीबारी शुरू कर दी। सेना के जवानों ने भी आतंकियों को मुंहतोड़ जवाब दिया। इस दौरान सेना के दो जवान घायल हो गए जिन्हें अस्पताल में भर्ती करवाया गया है...इलाके में दो से तीन आतंकियों के छिपे होने की आशंका है...बताया जा रहा है कि इस दौरान स्थानीय लोगों ने जवानों पर पथराव भी किया है...जिसके बाद अब सीआरपीएफ के जवानों को कानून व्यवस्था बनाए रखने के लिए इलाके में तैनात किया गया है...वहीं सेना का सर्च ऑपरेशन जारी है।--

  • J-K: Encounter breaks out between security forces, terrorists in Sopore

    A Gunfight started on Wednesday between the security forces and hiding militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore area, police said. The gun battle started after security forces comprising special operations group of state police (SOG) and Rashtriya Rifles (RR) surrounded the Gund Brath area on the town outskirts following information about militant presence.

  • Encounter between security forces, terrorists underway in Kulgam, Awantipora

    A gun fight raged between the security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam District, on Tuesday.

    Acting on specific information, the Special Operations Group (SOG) Kulgam and 9 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the Army cordoned off Nowbug Kund, Qazigund area of Kulgam.

    While searches were intensified towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon security forces triggering an encounter.

    Another encounter started in the Lam forest area of Tral in the Awantipora district. The Jammu and Kashmir Police and 42 Rashtriya Rifles are retaliating strongly and effectively.
