UNSC meet on Kashmir: Article 370 India's internal matter, Pak misleading world, says Akbaruddin
India's Ambassador & Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Syed Akbaruddin addressed media after the UNSC consultations. "These have no external ramifications, the recent decisions taken by the Government of India and our legislative bodies are intended to ensure that good governance is promoted, social-economic development is enhanced for our people in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh," he said. Syed Akbaruddin said that India maintains its stance that all issues between India and Pakistan or any other country will be resolved bilaterally and peacefully. He, however, stressed that Pakistan has failed to honour bilateral pacts.

Article 370 India’s internal matter: Russia on Kashmir issue
Russia has backed India's move on Jammu and Kashmir, saying that the changes in the status are within the framework of the Indian Constitution and hoped that the differences between India and Pakistan are resolved bilaterally on the basis of the Simla Agreement and the Lahore Declaration. India on Monday revoked Article 370 of the Constitution to withdraw the special status given to Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the state into two Union Territories -- Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.

Abrogation of article 370: UNSC to hold closed-door meet over Kashmir
The UN Security Council (UNSC) is to hold closed-door consultations on the Kashmir developments on Friday at the request of China, a diplomat at the Security Council told IANS on Thursday. The diplomat said that China's request for the meeting was made in a letter and came up during the Council's informal consultations on Wednesday.

Describing the revoking of Article 370 as a "black day" in the country's constitutional history, the Congress on Monday alleged that the government "dismembered" Jammu and Kashmir by "mischievously misinterpreting" articles in the Constitution. However, few Congress leaders took a different stand than the party's and supported the BJP government on Article 370.In a major setback, Congress Rajya Sabha MP and chief whip Bhubaneshwar Kalita resigned from the membership of the House on Monday opposing the party's stand on the abrogation of Article 370. "I was asked by the party to issue a whip but this is against the mood of the nation. 22 Covid & non-Covid patients allegedly died following a 'mock oxygen drill' in UP. A viral video purportedly of a hospital owner in Agra has sparked a major controversy. In the video, the man is heard saying that he got oxygen supply from patients snapped for 5 mins. The man, in the video, added that this was part of an experiment to know who all will survive. Reports suggest the video is purportedly of Arinjay Jain, owner of Paras Hospital on NH 2. UP health dept has ordered a probe into the incident after the video went viral.
