महिला कांग्रेस की पूर्व रास्ट्रीय अध्यक्षा एवं पूर्व विधायक अनीता वर्मा ने निर्भया केस में लिए गए आरोपियों को फांसी दिए जाने के निर्णय का स्वागत किया है लेकिन अनीता वर्मा ने इस निर्णय को लेकर सात साल लगाए जाने पर खेद भी व्यक्त किया। उन्हेांने कहा कि निर्भया केस बाद आरोपी बाकी केसों में षामिल लोगों के लिए भी सख्त निर्णय लिए जाने चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस सरकारके समय में निर्भया फंड रखा गया था लेकिन अफसोस है कि आगे वाली सरकारों ने न कोई काम किया है और न ही कोई प्रगति लाई है।
