പെരിയപാണ്ടി എന്ന ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്‍ കൊള്ളസംഗവുമായി നടന്ന ഏറ്റുമുട്ടലിലാണ് കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടത്,കോലത്തൂരില്‍ ജ്വല്ലറിയുടെ ചുമര് തുരന്നാണ് കൊള്ളക്കാര്‍ 3.5 കിഗ്രാം സ്വര്‍ണ്ണംകവര്‍ന്നത്.പിടിയിലായ കൊള്ളക്കാരന്‍ പെരിയപാണ്ടിയുടെ സര്‍വ്വീസ് തോക്ക് തട്ടിയെടുത്ത് വെടിയുതിര്‍ക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
