गेल्या काही वर्षापासून विविध घटनामधून नगर प्रसिद्ध होण्याऐवजी कुप्रसिद्ध होऊ लागले आहे . या घटनाची दखल केवळ राज्यातील आणि देशातील प्रसिद्धी माध्यमांनी घेतली असे नाही तर आंतरराष्ट्रीय माध्यमामध्ये नगरचे नाव अशा काही दुर्दैवी बातम्यांनी झळकले आणि नगर बदनाम होत राहिले . केडगाव मध्ये घडलेल्या महापालिका पोट निवडणुकीतील शिवसैनिकांच्या दुहेरी हत्याकांडाने तर नगरकरांची उरली सुरली सगळी अब्रू गेली असल्याने नगरकर व्यथित झाले आहेत. कोपर्दी , जवखेडा, खर्डा इथल्या हत्याकांdaमुळे तर महाराष्ट्र हादरून टाकला आहे. केदागावातील हत्याकांडामुळे तर अगदी कहर केला असल्याच मत सांस्कृतिक क्षेत्र पर्वतक जयंत येलूलकर यांनी व्यक्त केलाय.

परंतु दोन दिवसांपूर्वी दिलीप सातपुते यांच्या विरोधात फुलांच्या व्यापाऱ्यांनी एक आंदोलन केलं त्यामध्ये व्यापाऱ्यांनी दिलीप सातपुते यांच्यावर आरोप केला की ते आमचे गाळे पाडून आमच्या पोटावर मारत आहे परंतु यावर बोलताना शहर प्रमुख दिलीप सातपुते म्हणाले की माझे आणि व्यापाराचे कोणतेही भांडण नसून मी सदैव व्यापाऱ्यांच्या पाठीशी आहे तसेच शिवसेना ही व्यापाऱ्यांच्या पाठीशी खंबीरपणे उभे आहे माझे भांडण आहे ते मोकळा भूखंडावर बांधकाम करून कोट्यवधी रुपयांचा उपहार केलेल्या संचालक मंडळाबरोबर त्यामुळे व्यापाऱ्यांनी केलेले आरोप हे खोटे असून व्यापाऱ्यांवर दमबाजी झाल्याने व्यापाऱ्यांनी घाबरून हे आरोप माझ्यावर केले आहेत असा आरोप शहर शिवसेनेचे दिलीप सातपुते यांनी केला
