Joint Press Interaction of EAM and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mauritius

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and International Trade, Republic of Mauritius, Dr. the Hon. Arvin Boolell will be on an official visit to India from 4 to 7 July 2012.

India-Mauritius relations have been unique, built up on the historical and cultural linkages. Both countries enjoy an active programme on cooperation in various fields including capacity building, economic and social development, defence & security, as also trade and investment.

There are regular exchanges of high-level visits between India and Mauritius. The Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam, paid a State Visit to India from 6 to 11 February 2012. During the visit, India announced an economic package of US$ 270 million which included a line of credit of US$ 250 million and grant of US$ 20 million to Mauritius.

During his visit, the Mauritius Foreign Minister will hold delegation-level talks with the Minister of External Affairs, Shri S.M. Krishna, on 5 July 2012 to discuss issues of international, regional and bilateral interest. He is also expected to call on other Indian dignitaries.
