Official Spokesperson's response to the Travel Advisory issued by Sri Lanka

In response to a media query on the travel advisory issued by Sri lanka, the official spokesperson said:

" We have noted the travel advisory that has been issued by the Government of Sri Lanka for its nationals visiting the state of Tamil Nadu.

I wish to convey here that the Government of India, in close consultation with the concerned state governments, has taken and will continue to take all measures to ensure the safety, security and well-being of Sri Lankan dignitaries and visitors to India, including to Tamil Nadu.

In certain instances, it has been noticed that important visits have taken place without prior intimation to the concerned authorities.

I find it important to emphasise here that people-to-people contacts are an integral part of the close historical, cultural, ethnic and civilisational ties between India and Sri Lanka. Our High Commission in Colombo issued visas to nearly 200,000 Sri Lankan nationals to visit India last year, while approximately 175,000 Indian tourists visited Sri Lanka in 2011. It is this perspective that guides all our actions on such matter."

    - टॉस हारकर पहले बैटिंग करने उतरी मेजबान टीम को डिकवेला और गुणातिलका ने शानदार शुरुआत दी। दोनों ने मिलकर पहले विकेट के लिए 74 रन जोड़े।
    - श्रीलंका की टीम को पहला झटका 13.6 ओवर में लगा। जब युजवेंद्र चहल की बॉल पर दानुष्का गुणातिलका (37) लोकेश राहुल को कैच दे बैठे।
    - दूसरे विकेट के लिए डिकवेला और मेंडिस ने 65 रन की पार्टनरशिप की। भारत को दूसरा विकेट 24.3 ओवर में मिला। जब निरोशन डिकवेला (64) को केदार जाधव ने lbw कर दिया। इस वक्त टीम का स्कोर 139 रन था।

    - श्रीलंका के लिए मैच में निरोशन डिकवेला ने शानदार फिफ्टी लगाई। ये उनके वनडे करियर की पांचवीं फिफ्टी रही।
    - डिकवेला 64 रन बनाकर आउट हुए। उन्होंने 74 बॉल की अपनी इनिंग में 8 चौके भी लगाए। उन्होंने अपने 50 रन 65 बॉल पर पूरे किए थे।
    - आउट होने से पहले डिकवेला ने मेंडिस के साथ मिलकर दूसरे विकेट के लिए 65 रन की पार्टनरशिप की।

    India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are participating in this tri series.

    For this series, regular captain Virat Kohli, wicketkeeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni, fast bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jaspreet Bumrah and all-rounder Hardik Pandya have given rest to the series and added new faces to the team.

    For the series, the Indian team includes youngsters like Washington Sunder, Vijay Shankar, Rishabh Pant, Deepak Hooda and Mohammad Siraj. These players will be under pressure to prove themselves by performing well in this series.

    Captain Rohit Sharma will not be easy to select a balanced team for the first Twenty20 game. The right selection of the team will show Rohit's ability as a captain.

    Sri Lanka

    On the other hand, the Sri Lankan team, which has been performing poorly in international cricket for some time now, is suffering from injury to injury players in this series. All-rounder Angelo Mathews is the biggest blow to the hosts, being out of the series.
