يستعرض فيلم ألف قدم من الأمل الجهود التي تقوم بها مؤسسة بهاجوان ماهافير فيكلانج ساهيتيا ساميتي (بي.إم.في.إس.إس)لتوفير اطراف صناعية للمعوقين والتي تعرف باسم قدم جيبور. ويستعرض الفيلم الأعمال الخيرية الهائلة التي تقوم بها المؤسسة الى جانب قصص هؤلاء الذين تبدلت حياتهم بعد تركيب القدم لهم. حتى عندما يقوم الفيلم بإثارة المخاوف حول تعامل الناس الدائم بشيء من التمييز مع المعاقين جسديا، فإنه يشير الى ان قدم جيبور تمكن الانسان المعاق من القيام بكافة الانشطة التي يقوم بها الاشخاص الذين يتمتعون بأطراف سليمة. يعرض الفيلم قصصا عن مدى اصرار الاشخاص في اثناء اوقات عصيبة وعن الجهود الجديرة بالثناء التي تبذلها المؤسسة.
