The World of Peries' converses with the Sri Lankan film maker Lester James Peries on his films, his relationship with Satyajit Ray and the laurels he has achieved. Peries, who started his career as a writer in the journal 'Ceylon,' went to London and made two short films that received critical acclaim. He then returned to Sri Lanka and started making documentaries and mythological films. He also made the first Sri Lankan feature film to be accepted for competition at the prestigious Cannes film festival. In the film Peries talks to the camera and discusses his films, his relationship with his contemporaries like Satyajit Ray, the trilogy of films he made, which is often compared with Ray's Apu trilogy

    • The 10 top women’s teams will contest 23 matches from 21 February – 8 March 2020

    • The 16 best men’s teams will play 45 matches from 18 October – 15 November 2020

    • Women’s and men’s tournaments to be played as standalone events, with both finals at the biggest cricket stadium in the world, the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG)

    • Women’s final at the MCG is an opportunity to set a new world record for attendance at a women’s sporting fixture

    • A spectacular opening for the women’s T20 World Cup will be held at Sydney Showground Stadium featuring hosts and reigning champions Australia taking on India

    • On the men’s side, hosts Australia will play the world’s top-ranked team, Pakistan, at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in the first Super 12 match of the tournament

    ലോകബാങ്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം പുറത്തിറക്കിയ റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടിലാണ് ഇക്കാര്യമുള്ളത്. അതേ സമയം 2014 വരെ വെറും 53 ശതമാനമായിരുന്നത് ഉപഭോക്താക്കളുടെ എണ്ണം 2017ല്‍ എത്തിയപ്പോഴേക്കും, 5ല്‍4 ഇന്ത്യക്കാരും അക്കൗണ്ടുകള്‍ എടുത്തവരായി മാറിയെന്നും റിപ്പോര്‍ട്ടിലുണ്ട്. രാജ്യത്തെ 80 ശതമാനത്തിന് സ്വന്തമായി ബാങ്ക് അക്കൗണ്ട് എന്ന നേട്ടം കൈവരിക്കാന്‍ കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ ജന്‍ധന്‍, ആധാര്‍ പദ്ധതികളിലൂടെ സാധിച്ചതായും ലോക ബാങ്കിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും പുതിയ ഗ്ലോബല്‍ ഫിന്‍ഡെക്‌സ് ഡേറ്റാബേസ് വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നു.എല്ലാവരെയും ബാങ്ക് അക്കൗണ്ട് ഉടമകളാക്കുകയെന്ന ലക്ഷ്യത്തോടെയാണ് പ്രധാന്‍മന്ത്രി ജന്‍ധന്‍ യോജന പദ്ധതി 2014ല്‍ ആരംഭിച്ചത്.
