Несмотря на ее существенный вклад в развитие индийского кино, очень мало известно о Шаме Заиде. Художник-постановщик, художник по костюмам, сценарист, режиссер -- Шама Заиди была связана со всеми аспектами создания фильмов. Мать Шамы родилась в семье высококультурных людей и в 1940 году создала индийский театральный кружок. Вдохновленная своей матерью, Шама Заиди пошла по ее стопа. Её карьера включает около 25 фильмов, большое число короткометражек и документальных фильмов. Сюжет открывается с ранних форм кино. Шама Заиди стала неотъемлемой частью развития индийской кинематографии. Благодаря своей деятельности Шама была знакома с такими известными кинорежиссерами как Сатьяджит Рай, Шьям Бенегал, М.С. Сатью и другие.
