जापान अब ज्यादा समय तक क्षतिग्रस्त हुए फुकुशिमा न्यूक्लियर प्लांट का रेडियोएक्टिव पानी जमा नहीं कर सकेगा... ऐसा इसलिए है क्योंकि जिस टैंक में वो अब तक इस पानी को जमा कर रहा था उसकी तय सीमा पूरी होने वाली है... इसके एक बार भर जाने के बाद जापान के लिए इसको छोड़ना एक बड़ी मजबूरी बन रहा है... जापान के प्रधानमंत्री योशिहिदे सुगा ने साफ कर दिया है कि जापान अब इस पानी को अगले दो वर्षों के अंदर समुद्र में छोड़ देगा। इसको लेकर जापान ही नहीं बल्कि कई अन्य देशों में विरोध के सुर भी सुनाई दे रहे हैं... जापान के इस फैसले का विरोध करने वालों का कहना है कि इस दूषित पानी से समुद्र का जनजीवन नष्ट होने के कगार पर पहुंच जाएगा। साथ ही इसका प्रतिकूल प्रभाव समुद्र में अन्य चीजों पर भी पड़ सकता है।

According to several stunning editorials by authors Lucas W. Hixon and Joy Thompson on the website Enformable.com, evidence obtained through an FOIA request reveals a 'cover-up' by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in an effort to conceal the severity of the meltdowns in Fukushima, Japan.
The FOIA request was initiated by the Friends of the Earth (FOE), the Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR), and the Nuclear Information and Resource Center (NIRS) in March of 2011. Physicians for Social Responsibility explains the purpose of the request on YubaNet.com

Quake and tsunami jolts north-east Japan, striking regions hardest-hit in 2011 disaster that killed 20,000 people.
Japan escaped largely unscathed on Friday after a magnitude 7.3 earthquake shook the north-east coast. It was, however, a chilling reminder of the 9.0 quake that struck the area in March 2011, triggering a tsunami that killed almost 20,000 people and a triple meltdown at the nearby Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
Initially, the appearance on TV screens of a tsunami warning, and repeated announcements to remember last year's tragedy and flee the coast, prompted fears of a second disaster in less than two years in the worst-affected prefectures of Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima.
Less than an hour later, a tsunami washed ashore in Ishinomaki, one of the hardest-hit towns in last year's tragedy, where the rebuilding process has barely begun. Mercifully, this time the wave was just a metre high. Two hours after the quake struck 150 miles offshore at 5:18pm local time, the meteorological agency cancelled its tsunami warning.
Narita airport closed briefly for safety checks and phone lines were temporarily jammed by the large volume of calls.
