El Tesoro en la nieve: Una Película sobre Sikkim, Sikkim is a land of devotion and faith. In Sikkim religion is the fountainhead of art and culture. The Lepchas and Bhutias are aboriginal tribes of Sikkim. The Lepchas believe that dance and music are gifts from God and act as a bridge between the earth and the heavens. The Bhutias are responsible for the spread of Tibetan Buddhism in Sikkim. The people exhibit extraordinary skills in wood carving. The varied and colorful masks that are essential for traditional Buddhist ritual dances are stunningly beautiful and intricately carved. Metal craft is another sector where artisans combine their skills with religious devoutness. The Himalayan ranges and the physical landscape have left an indelible mark on the social and religious lives as well as the psyche of people. Many designers and craftsmen from Sikkim have found eminence across the world.

Part 1 of 'A Bridge Over Time' follows the river Mekong that flows through these countries, and presents historic cities and regions where religions and culture have spread from India. The Gangetic plains of India also supported the growth of the two religions, Hinduism and Buddhism. The film tries to understand how culture and religion spread from India to South East Asia given the enormous difficulties in travel due to the terrain and the fact the monarchs from these countries did not try to subjugate or colonise each other. The film travels through the river valleys to find an answer to this question.

    सिक्किम में बादल फटने के बाद ऐसी भयावह त्रासदी जिसने लोगों का सबकुछ छीन लिया... घर,परिवार,खुशियां... तड़पता सिक्किम... मलबे में दबे लोग... छलकते आंसू... अपनों को खोने का दर्द... हर तरफ मातम का माहौल... तबाही का मंजर... बादल फटने के बाद सिक्किम का ये दास्तान है... जहां कभी बच्चों की किलकारियां गूंजती थीं... वहां आज बच्चों के खिलौने पड़े हैं... जहां खुशियां हिलोरे मारती थीं... वहां आंसुओं का सैलाब है... जहां कभी ऊंचे- ऊंचे आशियानें थे वहां आज हर तरफ मलबे का ढेर नजर आ रहा है... और इस ढेर में दफन हैं सैकड़ों लोंगो की जिंदगियां... सिक्किम में बादले फटने के बाद जो तबाही मची हुई है उसे आने वाली पीढ़िय़ा कई दशकों तक नहीं भूंल नहीं पाएंगी... इस भीषण ताबही से सिर्फ सिक्किम ही नहीं बल्कि पूरी दुनिया कांप उठी... इस तबाही का मंजर देख पूरी दुनिया शोक में है... सभी लोग सिक्किम के लिए भगवान से दुआ- प्रार्थना कर रहे हैं... इस तबाही में अब तक 7 जवान समेत 21 लोंगो की मौत हो चुकी है... 118 लोग लापता बताए जा रहे हैं... मृतकों का आंकड़ा और भी बढ़ सकता है... रेस्क्यू ऑपरेशन लगातार जारी है
