    Mr.Sanjay Jha, spokesperson of Congress called a Press Conference in New Delhi. He strongly condemned Mr.Narendra Modi's comments on Defence minister Mr. A.K.Antony,which he made during his Jammu and Kashmir public rally. Mr.Jha said,the choice of words used by BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate are not up to the mark,he has time and again used foul language,like ''Mar jawan,mar kisan''.AK-47
    Mr.Jha also answered questions on manifesto and made it very clear that,UPA is not bringing any reservation in private sector but talking of affirmative action,which will be on National consensus.
    He also questioned Mr.Modi about what is his "GUJARAT MODEL",which he has been using as a marketing tool for the upcoming elections.
    He sent a strong message to Mr. Modi saying "Being aggressive doesn't mean you lie and misguide people of the country"

    Addressing a press conference on January 8, Congress leaders Shakeel Ahmed and Randeep Surjewala demanded a CBI probe into an alleged drug racket in Punjab, the kingpin of which has named a state minister involved in it.

    Congress General Secretary Shakeel Ahmed said that party leaders from Punjab would meet President Pranab Mukherjee and other Union Ministers over the issue as the matter was of a serious nature.

    Ahmed said that Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia's name has come up in the affair and he is the brother-in-law of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal., "We all know that Badal virtually runs the government there," Ahmed added.

    "It is surprising that BJP and Akali Dal leaders, who hold press conferences on every small issue... Are keeping mum on this", said Congress general secretary Shakeel Ahmed.

We have never consciously or sub consciously hit below the belt and we believe that we have done a vigorous strong, sober campaign most importantly keeping in mind the constitutional spirit of the country, keeping in mind its ethos, its plurality and inclusiveness. All I can add with humility is that much what I said is more than you can say for some of our competitors but ultimately when we stick to these principles, in as divisive a campaign as this one, we all enhance India, Indian democracy and the Idea of India and I think that is the ultimate and that should be the ultimate object.
