  • J&K: Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC in Poonch, targets civilians

    Pakistani troops on Thursday violated ceasefire by firing small arms and shelling mortar bombs on forward posts and villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesperson said. The firing from across the border in Mankote sector was retaliated befittingly by the Indian Army, he said, adding there was no immediate report of any casualty on the Indian side. "At about 7.15 am, Pakistan initiated the unprovoked ceasefire violation by firing of small arms and shelling with mortars," the spokesperson said.

  • Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC in Poonch

    POONCH: Pakistani troops today violated border ceasefire for the second time in less than a week by resorting to small arms firing and mortar shelling on forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir. "The Pakistan army troops resorted to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing on Indian army posts along LoC in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir since midnight," the Defence spokesperson today said.

    The spokesperson said the Pakistan army also shelled posts with heavy mortars and opened fire with small arms and automatic weapons in the Poonch sector. "Our troops are responding appropriately and no casualties or damage to our troops was reported till the report last came in. The firing was still going on" the spokesperson added. The exchange of fire is going intermittently in Shahpur Kandi area along LoC in Poonch, police said.     Pakistani troops today violated ceasefire twice in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir as they resorted to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing from across the border, targeting forward posts and villages, an official said.

    The Indian troops guarding the Line of Control (LoC) retaliated the firing but there was no immediate report of any casualty, the official said.

    He said the small arms firing from Pakistani side was reported for nearly three hours in the morning in three villages of Digwar sector, causing panic among the border residents.

    पाकिस्तान अपनी हरकतों से बाज़ नहीं आ रहा है...पाक ने एक बार फिर सीजफायर का उल्लंघन किया है. जम्मू के पुंछ सेक्टर में सोमवार रात से पाकिस्तान की तरफ से फायरिंग की जा रही है...इस दौरान भारतीय सेना की 6 पोस्टों को निशाना बनाया गया...बताया जा रहा है कि रुक-रुककर मोर्टार भी दागे जा रहे हैं. सेना के मुताबिक, फायरिंग सुबह तक जारी है...लेकिन अभी तक इस गोलीबारी में किसी के घायल होने की खबर नहीं है...वैसे पाकिस्तान ने एक सप्ताह से भी कम समय में दूसरी बार संघर्षविराम का उल्लंघन किया है. इससे पहले पाकिस्तान ने जम्मू के अखनूर सेक्टर में नियंत्रण रेखा के पास 2 सितंबर को अग्रिम सैन्य चौकियों पर गोलीबारी करके संघर्षविराम का उल्लंघन किया था. और 14 अगस्त को भी जम्मू-कश्मीर के पुंछ सेक्टर के दो अलग-अलग इलाकों में नियंत्रण रेखा पर भारतीय चौकियों को निशाना बनाया था..जिसमें 50 वर्षीय एक महिला घायल हो गई थी.-

    नगरोटा और सांबा में हुए आतंकी हमले के बाद भी पाकिस्तान बाज़ नहीं आ रहा है...सीमापार से फायरिंग का सिलसिला लगातार जारी है...आज भी पुंछ को निशाना बनाया है.. एक बार फिर पाकिस्तान ने पुंछ में सीजफायर का उल्लंघन किया है..जिसमें एक अधिकारी के घायल होने की खबर है.. रक्षा सूत्रों ने बताया कि पाकिस्तान की मोची मोहरा, धकनी धोक, न्यू डिंगिंग और नेजा पीर पोस्ट से भारत की 6 पोस्ट को निशाना बनाया गया है. पाकिस्तानी सैनिकों ने बॉर्डर के पास बसे कस्बा गांव पर भी मोर्टार दागे हैं...वहीं भारत ने भी इसका मुंहतोड़ जवाब दिया है...इससे पहले रातभर पाकिस्तान ने उरी सेक्टर में गोलियां बरसाई...पाकिस्तान ने यह फायरिंग चारूंदा के पास की...साथ ही देर रात बारामुला के पास भी फायरिंग की खबर है.. बताया जा रहा है कि फायरिंग आतंकियों को घुसपैठ कराने के लिए की गई थी, हालांकि पाकिस्तान अपने इरादों में सफल नहीं हो सका क्योंकि भारतीय सेना ने भी रात भर डट कर पाकिस्तान का मुकाबला किया. आपको बता दें कि मंगलवार को जम्मू-कश्मीर के नगरोटा, चमलियाल और रामगढ़ में आतंकी घुसपैठ और सेना पर हमले की कोशिश हुई। जिसमें सेना के 2 अधिकारी समेत 7 जवान शहीद हो गए और सेना ने 7 आतंकियों को मार गिराया। वहीं नगरोटा में अभी भी सेना का सर्च ऑपरेशन जारी है...इलाके में चौथे आतंकी के छिपे होने का आशंका ज़ाहिर की जा रही है इसी के चलते सेना ने दोबारा सर्च ऑपरेशन शुरू कर दिया है...

    A Traffic Department official said no traffic would be allowed on the highway following the landslides that occurred on Kheri road in Udhampur.
