A fire broke out in a house here on Saturday in which property worth lakhs of rupees was gutted, official sources said.

A residence at Mahraj Gunj in the Shehar-e-Khas (SeK) in Srinagar was engulfed in the flames but before the fire tenders could rush to the spot to douse the blaze , the inferno took within its reach the houses in vicinity, they said.

    JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Fresh landslide in Udhampur district forced the closure of the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Monday.

    A Traffic Department official said no traffic would be allowed on the highway following the landslides that occurred on Kheri road in Udhampur.
